Buc-ee's should buy that property. That spot right off the interstate would print money for them.

2nd, the themepark is an afterthought, a way to drive revenue in the evening, once the waterpark has closed for the day...

They messed up when they started closing both parks at 6PM.

Great news! Hate that ghetto trashy place. A huge eyesore that doesn’t belong in that area. The ghetto and trash need to not have a reason to go around there.

Good times. About the only place I ever had cotton candy. Not a boomer, though.

How is he exploiting them?

Seriously... Don't really know much about the place. Seems like a cool summer gig for HS kids.

I found out Disney only pays $18 an hour for their boat pilots.

In the early 2000's he was paying only $3 an hour with a promise of an extra $2 an hour back pay "bonus check" if you worked until the end of the season.

That sucks, but that was 25 years ago, what are they paying now?

As a former worker at waterparks - working lifeguard shifts on all types of equipment and pools, its a nightmare dealing with the usual suspects. They CANNOT swim, and they are quite literally trying to drown you as you try to keep them from drowning. This is for any slide that exists into water deeper than 3 ft. I have been clawed, kicked, punched by people who have no business being near water.

As soon as we saw the skin color of the person coming down the slide, we instantly were on edge.

Looks like it's a whopping $6. There's some "seasonal job" loophole that allowed them to pay less than minimum wage.

Blue Bayou Water Park in Prairieville, LA, has a reported average hourly salary of $6.00 for employees, with potential bonuses for beginners or at the end of the season. However, some employee reviews mention lower pay, while others suggest that pay may have increased over time. Some reviews also mention a $2 bonus

As it got closer to the end of the "season", they'd find reasons to people and thus not have to pay the bonus.

Was definitely shady
