No shite! The ONLY reason anyone drinks Dixie today is for the nostalgia. It's not any better or worse than Budweiser, Coors, etc. But, it was a 100 year old local beer that you could get in lieu of Bud. Now, with a name change it simply gets lost in the 500 cans on the shelves of every dingaling home brewer who thinks their stuff is the best.
Name and brand recognition is the absolute toughest thing to attain in the industry. Dixie had it. Now, you have $30+ million sunk into a new brewery full of Dixie branding that's likely never going to produce its full ROI...all to appease people who likely didn't drink your beer in the first place.
