Good on them for making use of an existing industrial property, and trying to give it some character. LOVE the replica of the old Tulane Ave. building.
That's in an industrial area, of course criminals who WANT to get to it, will. But it's not like it's smack dab on Chef Highway between old motels, check-cashing bidnisses, pawn shops and Cricket stores. It's much too big for all of that.
Last articles on Hubig's were that there is a likely unbreakable impasse between factions of the family with one side wanting to take the insurance money and run, and the other wanting to re-open. There's been nothing else, since.
As for Haydel's hey, I haven't had one, but they're a solid local bakery, and their recipe is from the early 1960s. They stepped in to fill a niche and a need, they're still in all the groceries and if they are that bad, no one would buy them. At this point, the curiosity is likely over, but someone MUST like them. Their "hand pies" are baked, not fried.

Which Hubig's Pies are those?
I haven't seen a Hubig's pie in six years.

They use to have vendors in the Superdome with kegs on their back and would sell draft to you at your seat. Called Dixie Foamers

That was at Tulane stadium...
They had Dixie on the West side the stadium, and Falstaff on the East. They stopped that when the Dome opened in 75..

They should buy the old six world's site and turn it into a beer themed amusement park.

The fact that they're comparing a theme park to a brewery is hurting my brain
A brewery with free concerts in the east being compared to an amusement park that required cash from some to get in, what a dumb comparison.

Terrible location.
The East is a hell hole.
Not a bad location for a brewery a terrible location for a free concert.

Lakefront Airport terminal is super nice in the East, with a Messina's restaurant in it.
Is there free stuff at the airport?
