Wife and I decided to split ways and I want to not hire a lawyer. I gave her half of our liquid assets (cash) and verbal agreement we settle our own debts. Now that I reflect on it I’m worried if I can get screwed out of anything, it wasn’t a spiteful decision but money makes people mad. Any thoughts? We don’t own a home, we have two cars, student loans on both ends

Also no kids.

You got screwed the moment you decided to divorce, either by her or lawyers, or both. (It will be both)

I am not a divorcee but I would get a lawyer just to be safe especially if this was not an amicable split

I THINK if it is uncontested, there is some pretty simple paperwork that can be filed to settle it all. I'm no lawyer though.

Were his car and student loans in your name also?

Get it in writing. Got to a lawyer and get it put down in legal language. Don’t piss her off or let her get a lawyer involved.

Thankfully no kids or house should make it an easy split

Write up a DDL, even if it’s informal, saying everything you said here and have in writing her approving it. I recommend getting a lawyer tho.

I know you're supposed to document the last time you had sex.

Do we each need a lawyer or one person to draft the language?

I'm married.
Seen some of my Baws divorce.

Get everything in writing.
Document everything.

Store on a secure cloud that she cannot access.

If can get out amicably, by all means do so.

Give in on a little bit of shite if necessary.

Specify in divorce "alimony forever barred".

Do not date or cheat until finalized.
You can smash broads. Just don't admit you are. Don't put it on FB or shite.

Is this another Rona divorce where y'all were stuck in the house together for months?
