Mere yards from the Supreme Court

quote:

New Orleans police are responding to what they say is a "disturbance" on Royal Street in the French Quarter and have asked the public to avoid the area.

The 300 block of Royal Street (map), which is between Bienville and Conti streets, is closed as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday due to police activity, NOPD tweeted.

"The public is asked to avoid this area until police activity has concluded," the alert said.

You shouldn't jump to conclusions before you know exactly what had happened was.

Or Mardi Gat.

I think that block is where the police station is located.

Those fine Royal Street antique stores must not be accepting counter-signed stimulus checks.

The OP made it clear it was New Orleans. What part of that threw you off the trail?

Proud to say I was held up at an ATM a block from there. This was in the middle of an afternoon with tons of people walking by. Two blocks from the police station. Fortunately for me the perpetrator was unsuccessful.

It's like walking through the streets of Haiti to get to Mr. B's now.

The 100-200 blocks of the quarter are really sketchy - particularly on Royal.
