His show was probably losing as much money as Colbert's. Good excuse for ABC to terminate him without paying off his contract.
Just a theory.

You can act as confused as you want, but the guy I called out responded in the affirmative of that position. Sorry your side is so lost, but the rest of us refuse to go down in a winnable fight because of principle. That is absurd

I for one welcome the days ahead where anyone who says anything remotely controversial gets canceled by one of the two mobs of retards. Identity politics is rotting the brains of a large portion of society.

Does nothing as long as social media continues to be the avenue of choice by so many. The algorithms tailoring those messages of affirmation are the real culprit of division.

The state, through the FCC, pressuring a company to silence someone is antithetical to American ideals of liberty.

So Kimmel was making a slew of money for ABC and they bowed to government pressure?

No.

If he were a money maker he’d be on the air. ABC is making a Colbert decision and using Kimmel’s comments as cover.

Sorta. But the precedent was set long ago with one conservative voice after another being cancelled in both traditional and social media. This more or leas follows the precedent, although most people losing jobs were celebrating someone’s death, which conservatives haven’t done.

Another point related to your precedence comment: Kimmel didn’t celebrate Kirk’s death to my knowledge, so his suspension isn’t due to espousing a political viewpoint. Instead, he is spreading demonstrably false information, which certainly opens them up for a lawsuit and is a legitimate basis for ABC to suspend his employment.

Comedians like him and Colbert sell their souls for a seat at the cool kids’ table.

Then they go all in left with their humor to keep the people at the table happy.

That process kills everything that made them funny in the first place. So then they get straight up partisan and mean, which isn’t actually funny.

Once they’re not funny, they’re no longer worth having around as a dancing bear for the “cool kids’” entertainment and they get kicked off the table.

And all they’re left with is no credibility and nobody who thinks they’re funny.

It doesn't say they aren't paying him.

Reasonable take, but this isn’t a reasonable place.

The left killing Charlie Kirk for his speech ain't exactly loyal to American ideals of liberty either imo

The left didn’t kill Charlie Kirk. A psychopath with a gun killed Charlie Kirk.

I obviously don’t know the details of his contract, but I highly doubt what he said justifies nullifying his contract. Apparently his contract is up in a year anyway and he said he’s leaning towards retirement so now he’ll just get paid to retire a year early so I bet he’s fine

If the FCC put pressure on stations over that kind of comment then that’s pretty messed up. And a bell you can’t unring. There was a Fox News host who said the government should kill homeless people a few days ago. If that happened with a Democrat in the White House would y’all be okay with the FCC shutting down his show? Pulling Fox News’ license to broadcast? That’s the road we are on
