Family of 4. I'm sure we could get reservations at most restaurants but maybe not at the best times.

It was good, but I don't get the hype.

Overrated IMO

I went there for lunch. The cost wasn't much more than eating on the street and the food was much better. I can't comment on dinner.

Meant to say lunch and breakfast as they are both QS

Breakfast was better than lunch.

Pro tip:

At all quick service places, kids don't have to get a kids meal. They can order another adult meal and it uses the same credit (assuming DDP)

That shouldn't be bad at all. If you watch it for a couple of weeks, you could probably get anything you want within 30 minutes or so.

I wasn't sure what all the hype was about either, but made the reservation anyway. I think it is more for the setting, and seeing the Beast. It was hands down the most beautifully decorated restaurant we visited in all of Disney. We sat in the West Wing, right next to the fireplace. People would literally come and stand at our table with their phones up waiting for the portrait to change from Prince to Beast every few minutes. Someone proposed to his fiancee in front of the rose case while we were there. Then having the Beast come by and meeting him was a real treat for the kids.

The food was good but I think it is popular because of the experience. We also at breakfast at Cinderella's Royal Table, and even though we got to meet the princesses, BOG blew it away as far as experience.

The princess dinner at Akershus was the best character meal we had.

Dinner at Ohana was the best food we had.

I did Ohana for breakfast the first time we went

It was awesome as well, though it's expensive, mostly bc it's a character meal.

I was the former until I took my son for the first time a year ago... Now I actually really enjoy it because of how much fun he has. The next time we go in a few months he will be tall enough for everything but space mountain so it should be even more fun. We live in Florida and have annual passes though, so there isn't a ton of pressure to do everything each time we go.

Yes, they should both work for the entirety. Just make sure to have them both checked out when you check in the first resort and again at the second to make sure they both work to get in the room

there are 52 weekends per year to choose to go to Disney, Memorial Day weekend is not the best time for several reasons.. Most notably, large crowds and it's the kick-off to gay week.. If your okay with watching Mickey give Donald a handjob then more power to you

Best / worst Disney weekends

How was AoA?

We're going to Disney during the food and wine fest and are choosing between AoA and Shades of Green. We've stayed at Shades of Green and were definitely happy with it. But we know our 4-year old daughter would love to stay in one of the Ariel themed rooms.

What would your recommendation be? What did you find the pros and cons to be? Thanks!

I agree to that Be Our Guest for lunch is vastly overrated. To me, it's dinner or nothing. Dinner is the only opportunity to meet the beast anywhere (doesn't meet in any other park or resort).

For lunch I prefer Columbia harbor house or a waffle sandwich from Sleepy Hollow Refreshments.

We went January 23rd-30th. Very light crowds.

Epcot promenade outside of China. The best part is, they still free pour there and they are generous with the Jack. Tip them and come back and they usually remember.

I've tried to tip at more than a few of those kiosks and I'm always told that they aren't allowed to accept tips.

Yeah, like I said earlier I don't think it's the best. For us, that would be the 1st or 2nd week of December. But also like I said earlier success at WDW should be based on what is best for you and your family not what works for someone else or what a book says.

For example, I was offered a pin code/discount to just before June 10 by Disney marketing. Fine print said arrival day had to be between Sunday and Thursday and stay had to be 3 nights. So, while we could have went in May before memoral do it would have cost and extra of vacation (at least) and it would have been much harder to get three park days with travel back and forth.

So by me going over Memorial Day weekend I got a three night stay with three day park hoppers for less than $1200 and it only costs 16 hours of vacation time.

Again, any time is a good time (albeit some better than others) but you need to pay appropriately for what you get and what you do should fit you and your families schedule and preferences.

Technically, Disney doesn't want them accepting tips but each pavilion is not actually "run" by Disney so it depends on if there is a supervisor there or not.

Ive been in France and tipped $5 for a Grey Goose Slushi in a big cup rather than the martini glass they serve them in and all went well. Went back 20 minutes later for another and it came in the martini glass and the same guy said he could not accept a tip.

With Disney, consistency is very inconsistent.

We like it. This trip we are staying at Pop Century. They are located in a good spot on grounds (close to Epcot and close to a Hess express for snacks, beer, gas, etc). Our daughter liked the Little Mermaid rood but after about 10 minutes, it was just another room. So, whether its "worth it or not" is tough to answer. When in the World we all will splurge on something silly (Wishes Desert Party at $150 for three people for example), to it just depends on where you want to spend your money.

AoA and Pop are basically the same resort separated by a lake. The entire trip around the lake is about 1.25 miles so it makes for nice morning walks or runs and both resorts get basically the same clientele with basically the same gift shops, dining, pools, etc.

With a 4 year old, first...I would probably lie and say she is still 3 and you won't have to buy her a ticket. They will never ask.... Free at all character meals, dinner shows, etc.

Now, if thats not in your bag of tricks, outside of that I would just make sure you have a comfortable stroller. The bigger the better (Bob jogger type). Yes, on and off the bus is a pain in the arse. BUT 95% of your day you will want something that handles easy that she can take a nap in.

Learn about rider swap passes and get to the parks early. Hit the popular attractions that she will love early in the morning, then when she needs a nap put her in the stroller and let/make her sleep then you and mom go take turns riding stuff you guys want. Grab some beverages, sit and relax. Then, go see some shows in the early afternoon after she wakes up then in the evening get back to riding rides.

If a park says it opens at 9 am, it really opens about 8:45 am so try to be there by 8:25 or so. Hit it hard in the morning when the kids are fresh, mid day break, then hard again before dinner. If you're there early enough you won't need any FP+ until after like 10am or so. So, what we do is hit it hard until like 11 am, then go get an early lunch before things get crowded. Then, start using our FPs at about 12:30 or so.

Here is an example of how the crowds build in the morning. We usually alot about 30 minutes for bus transportation. When I say be at the park by 8:20, I don't mean getting off the bus at 8:20, I mean being through security and the turnstiles by 8:20.
