I'm funding my Disney vacation for my daughter with my double cash back points. I should have more than enough. Plus I'm going to use a travel agent to get a good package for a nice price.

I took my son to Disney it was cool and the cost doesn't bother me but I don't see the appeal after you've gone once. Some people go every weekend for months which is insane

Agreed, I'm not a Disney hater at all, I just think it's crazy that there are people who go so much that it's legitimately a hobby for them.

I went to Disney once.. I think I was in the 3rd or 4th grade. Of course it has grown a lot since then, but Disney has never been something that excited me. As I got older, I always associated Disney with kids so it never really appealed to me. I completely understand parents wanting to bring their children there, but I don't understand people who go once a year... Some even go multiple times a year.

A guy I know bought a Disney timeshare awhile back and I can not wrap my brain around why someone who do that. In order for the timeshare to be even somewhat worth it, they would have to go to Disney 4 or 5 times a year. For some reason, at the time, he and his wife thought they would bring their kids multiple times a year. About a year ago he told us "I don't think I made a good decision when I bought that timeshare. A few weeks ago when I told the kids we were going, the oldest asked why do we always have to go there".. By the way, I don't think they have gone more than 3 times a year... Which might have been one year.

But good for Disney if they are able to sell the piss out of their timeshares.

Since we cannot ban people, might as well price them out.

The vacation club is a rip off unless you go multiple times a year. Even then you still need a bunch of cash upfront. They just keep building more vacation club buildings though because people are buying them. It's crazy.

You don't even know if you want it or not. I don't care about Avatar at all but I bet that section will be badass. People give Disney a lot of shite but no one comes close when it comes to doing what they do.

Harry Potter World at Universal is on par with Disney...too bad the rest of the property is pretty trashy.

There are spreadsheets out there that prove this wrong because it has nothing to do with trip frequency and everything to do with vacation habits. The way the point/maintenance fee system is built, you can still come out fine going once every two years. But you have to use the points in the parks, and you have to "want" to be in the condos. If you have a large family and want to save on food while still being close to the parks, it's great to have. Now, you can argue that renting makes more sense for more sporadic vacationers. But not in the long run, if you go frequently and plan to keep those habits, it works.

Your wife has been places she won't admit to you.

And how much she liked the ride.
