As far as I can tell he’s the first Louisiana native to claim the title. Also his first pro tour win.

He did great keeping himself in contention all week. Looks like there was a controversial call on 17 today that helped him out which is unfortunate but is what it is.

I don't follow the pros like a lot of my group does, so I don't know the reps of these people. Apparently, Gossage makes these kinds of calls often. One of the reasons people are upset is, he and Silas are team MVP, so there's the appearance of impropriety. I haven't seen a clear enough shot if it to say good call or not, but the walking official agreed with it.

Yea I haven’t seen the clip of the call yet but I’d imagine it’s one of those things where it was probably by definition a fault but it’s never called and definitely shouldn’t have been there. It sucks because I like gossage from everything I’ve seen from him and was hoping if Silas didn’t win he’d pull it off but his rep is about to take a beating over this.

Who gives a shite where he is from?

Does that make you better?

I hate that people put so much importance on this. People move a lot more than they used too. Used to be a thing but not anymore.

I see these players every time I go for a jog at Highland Park. They look to be having fun. I suspect he plays there.

He certainly dark-horsed the field. I probably would have picked him as a T10 finisher before the Worlds started.

I assume everyone saw Gannon Buhr hit 528 ft ace on hole 1. God, I wish I had a great forehand.

Great kid from a great family. They've been going to tournaments in the area for many years.

Well done, Bid. It was unforgettable.

Not never. Kristin Latt had the official call her for a foot fault with no other player calling it first at the Champions Cup last year.

But it's irrelevant. The official made the ultimate call in this case as well. Gossage really hurt his career, though.

I watched it live. My honest take is that Rainers had a bad line and was trying to squeeze himself as far left as he could as he threw. He went a bit too far and committed the foul. I can see a pro like Gossage calling that in that context.

Rainers also went +1 on th back nine. Gossage didn't have anything to do with that.
