Punch yourself in the face as hard as you can, please. All the dogs I’ve ever had were mutt rescues.

Just think how much they must dislike you for them to ship the dog out of state to keep it away from you

We've been thinking about getting a dog. 95% of the dogs at the Jeff Parish SPCA are some sort of pit bull or pit bull mix.

All of the shelters have agreements with rescue groups that pay them kickbacks.
Yeah
Cause local rescue groups are rolling in money

Quite frankly, anyone who suggests picking up a dog from a shelter or a rescue can go f themselves.

We foster a number of dogs. A good many get transported up North where the dog population hasn't been ruined by lazy redneck dog owners.
Just to put it into perspective, one group from around here transported nearly 1000 dogs just last year to places up north.
We don't get a penny to foster the dogs, yet we pay for food and some of the vet bills.
The monies transferred during adoptions barely covers costs of the vet bills, etc. needed to handle the dogs.
I can assure you that no one ,who is in the business of saving and trying to adopt out dogs, is trying to make money.

I got my 5 month old purebred black lab from the Jefferson Parish SPCA. My mom's good friend's sister works there, so she called as soon as he came in, and didn't let anyone take him

You ever watched the move "the dog lover"? It's based on a true story. I think it's on Netflix. I recommend watching it.

One thing I do like about them is that they let you test drive a dog for the weekend. So you can make sure the dog clicks with the family and isn't a stupid a-hole.

Yep
The transport system is amazing, those people have it together to make it a damn near seamless journey for the dogs

Rescue groups also provide medicine not on the approved purchase lists to Parish shelters
They will also pull a dog / puppy that needs to be seen immediately instead of having to wait for “Parish approved” vet
The employees of our local shelter go above & beyond
Most local rescue groups go above & beyond
The real criminals are the city / parish government who refuse to fund anything but the bare minimum for animal control

Dude they are all run by loonies. Crazy women who would rather kill their unborn babies than see a kitten die.

I wonder if these folks get paid to ship away good dogs?
What? As in dog trafficking?

Vet may have found that the dog was chipped and thus returned to the owner

Add to it what I just heard a little while ago about a family who had been renting a house, moves out, but abandons the pets at the home.

Worst neighbor ever is dog freaks with booger-barking, undisiplined, wormy, shite-eating rescue pets.

Very true. I don't know why these places have some of the rules they do. You can buy a gun faster than adopting a damn pet in need.

My daughter found a dog on a shelter site she wanted to adopt, we called the place and they wanted to send someone out to my house, wanted us to come in and interact with the dog ect.. but the girl who does the in home visits was out so it wouldve been like 2 weeks. After hearing all of that I was like fk it, we're buying.
