BUT if I chose to take my kid to a 4 star small, quaint restaurant and someone tells him to shut up, I will be getting ugly

And here comes the trash. If I'm in a 4 star, small, quaint restaurant and your special snowflake is creating a disruption b/c he's loudly crying, throwing a fit, whatever and YOU don't remove him from the restaurant, you can bet there will be words by I'm sure more than me. Any good restaurant worth its salt would ask you to leave as well.

I get that toddlers cry and create disruptions. I did as well, but my parents took me outside to calm me down and if that didn't work, we left. Sucked for them I'm sure, but that's the sacrifices one makes as parents.

Another tip bro, you probably shouldn't bring a 2 yr Old to a "4 star, quaint" restaurant. Sorry you can't afford a babysitter.

It was hypothetical. I wouldn't do that. BUT, that's no reason to yell at a child.

You shouldn't have been such a whining little bastard. Eat your Poo Poo Platter and let your parents finish their buffet.

We can afford plenty. BUT we have grands who cannot stay away.

Stop posting, I think I hear your kids throwing a hissy fit because daddy won't pay attention to them. Now go be a man and shut them up

You got children or are they scattered all over your bed sheets in stains? Tell us parents with kids who cry what the trick is.

They are scattered all in my wife's vagina and a little on the sheets. Best thing to do is to drench a rag in chloroform and hold it up to their nose and mouth when they get out of line. Those little bastards won't know what hit them. Try that first then get back to me

You said you'd thank them.
I said you wouldn't.
You said you wouldn't let your kid hit someone.

Yea,that's about as textbook of a straw man as one could find.

I've heard yelling at them from across a diner works well enough.

Shouldn't yell at the kid, but ask the parents to deal with it. If they don't, ask them to leave.

I'm with Lsuhunt, I would frick somebody up if they yelled at my family, then again we know what level of response is necessary for our kid's tantrums, and we are active in fixing them. We put up with too many other people's stupid fricking shite everyday to be yelled at. Let me rephrase that, if someone yelled at my child I would frick them up. Man, woman, child, you mess with my kid, you should have reconsidered. If a woman yelled at me, I wouldn't hit her. I might two hand shove her if she got too close, but not hit.

I don't yell at my child, there's no point. A time out is usually enough, and if it's not, a good asswhipping will ensue. Children understand when you take away that which they like, and whoopins, those are universal.

If you yell at a toddler for screaming in a restaurant you're a bigger piece of shite than the parents allowing that kind of behavior. You deserve to be punched in the fricking throat since your parents didn't teach you manners either.

I would lose my shite if someone did that to my child, but if mine was acting like that she wouldn't still be inside the restaurant for it to happen. Both the facebook bullshite is stupid.

The mom's side of the story.
quote:

We finally got a table and ordered food. I ordered pancakes for my daughter, which took about 40 minutes to arrive. At this point, my 21-month-old was getting antsy, as I imagine most would when they have to sit in one place and wait for a long time. She wasn’t having a meltdown, so we decided to stay in our corner booth rather than go outside in the rain. In the noisy diner I didn’t see anyone looking at us or think we were causing a disturbance. (If that had been the case, we would have gladly taken our baby outside.)
