What I don’t understand is it was already supposed to happen. I shouldn’t have to write my congressman they already voted and approved and set a date for the change. They just never did it because our government sucks

It's just a bill, only a bill, sitting on Capitol Hill.

Although the Sunshine Protection Act was passed unanimously by the Senate in 2022, the U.S. House of Representatives did not pass it.

Remember, civics students, a bill must be passed by the Congress and the Senate, and then signed by the President before it becomes law.

It's been 1 whole day. Why is your child defective?

On a serious note... It's been 1 whole day.

Because not everyone wants that. It was so nice not waking up in the dark this morning. I wish we could standard time permanent time.

You left this part out.

Most Americans would prefer to do away with time changes. About 43% want year-round standard time, 32% want permanent daylight saving time and 25% want to stick with the status quo, an October 2021 Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll found.

I'm in the 32% but don't really care as long as we just stick to one or the other. I just adjust and start getting to work at 6:30 during the winter so I can head home at 3:30. Luckily, I have a flexible job that doesn't require 8-5. That sucks during standard time.

It wouldn’t be early November without people crying about the time change around here. Year round daylight saving time would mean sunrises after 8 am from December through February. Standard time is superior… because it’s the natural time.

I honestly don't give a shite which one they pick, but the feds really need to just pick one of the times an stick with it moving forward. The time change is completely unnecessary in this day and age.

The conversation shouldn't be whether we do away with it. It should be which one do we pick. Put it up for vote and move the frick on with our lives.

you do realize that daylight savings doesn't create more daylight? So if they leave daylight saving year around it won't get light until 8-830 in the winter in LA. Up north it wouldn't get light until 830-9

The whole point of DST is to put the most daylight hours during a time when people are awake and active and can utilize them and be productive during them. DST does that year round. Standard time has it start getting light out at 3:30AM in the summer. That's a waste.

Leave it DST year round. I'd like to enjoy an 8:30AM sunrise.
