We did. Front yard was full of bushes and little stupid trees. We pulled up all of that crap and replaced with Meyer Zoysia. We actually had people coming by and thanking us for making the change.

Yes, but Katrina did a lot of the demo for us.

Not sure if "significant" but we are set to break ground soon on building an outdoor kitchen area and extend our current patio setup in the backyard.

You mean yard work? Sure, we did some of that.

Looking back, we did a lot more to the inside than the outside. The previous owners did a nice job with the landscaping so except for digging up and replanting some shrubs, it has pretty much stayed the same.

Replaced all floors (3 different styles of tile, carpet, laminate) throughout the house with the same tile.
Removed 2 walls to get better open floor plan, flipped kitchen layout from peninsula with small breakfast nook to a large kitchen with island.
Replaced 75% of ceiling.
Converted outside utility closet to interior mudroom

Next phase will be to extend back porch an extra 10 feet and putting all under some sort of roof/covering. And add outdoor kitchen. This may be 2 phases since we can’t do ourselves

I live in a shithole apartment that I’m sure have been the same for the last 20-30 years. No changes made.

whenever I sell my house I’m going to have to take a day with the new owners just to tell them what all the plants are, and how to take care of them

between three horrible storm events and all the planting I’ve done it looks nothing like it did when I bought it, and I’ve added three new building structures

.4 acres and we removed 30-40 shrubs and bushes. It’s quite fun.

My first house, purchased in 1995, was built in 1952. I didn’t do a ton at first but during the 8 years we lived there, I replaced the roof and most windows and painted the entire exterior. The painting I did completely by myself. Scraped, pressure washed, sanded, climbed a 20 foot ladder with a Wagner spray painter. Took me a few months of weekends IIRC. I used to be young and could do shite. Now I just pay for it.

Not really.

We did add a 30x50 Versacourt with an NBA gorilla goal.

They're gonna pull all your hard work up. No matter how nice you think they look or how much it would cost to have those beautiful plants to put in by a pro. Cold hard truth not many people have a true green thumb and or patient it takes to up keep that shite.

I rerouted some gutters from dumping into my drainage pipes, to now dump into a grassy area. And I planted a hand ful of bald cypress trees. So far so good. I’m very curious how this ends up working in the long run. I live in Monterey CA not Louisiana

Currently doing a complete renovation of the kitchen and half bath.

Next project will be renovation of master bath

you’re probably right but my hope is to sell it to someone who will appreciate the plants and trees like I do. Maybe I’ll require an affidavit

Yeah... added a large covered patio with outdoor kitchen and TV... replaced all the carpet... replaced the kitchen countertops.

The patio was the biggie, about $70k all in.

Landscaping has slowly changed over but I haven't overhauled it.
