Yes, at the post office IIRC.

So you did it at enlistment.

It’s also a part of the enlistment process. I recruited and have registered a ton of people, it’s required.

Yep, the first year it was required, 1979. I recall they implemented the policy when the Ayatollah Khomeini started doing stupid shite in Iran.

This was kind of weird.
My great grandfather served in the Spanish American war and WWI.
He shoed mules in the Spanish American War.
He fought as an infantryman during WWI.
The FBI came to visit him in an old folks home right before he died in the late 1960’s. They feared he was a draft dodger also a radical protester protesting the Vietnam war. They claimed it was a paperwork error once they finally saw he was a 90 yr old crazy old man in a wheel chair.
They also liked his story of the life of his life.
He looked at my great grandmother and said heck no not that b$tch. It was 1908 and this red head and me were riding horse back in Northern California. We had a few days of fun. Then she took my horse and money. She was worth it!

I signed up when I was 18...now here is my question. They make a big deal about 18 year old males signing up. With the equalization these days, why is this just confined to males? That seems like it is not equal protection under the law as two 18 year olds, one male and one female who don't sign up...one is punished and the other isn't. Furthermore there has been in the not too distant past this push for female combatants so why in 2018 is the Selective Service set up this way? I haven't looked into this too much but on the surface this seems off a bit.

The day I turned 18 and was in the back 2/3 back in the lottery the final year dudes were actually drafted.
Dad enlisted in the Navy in '39 because he saw war brewing and didn't want to walk.

If we ever get to the point where we’re drafting 45 year olds, the world wouldn’t be worth living in.
Had a great uncle called up for WWII when he was in his mid 40’s because he was single. Served too.

I have no idea and don’t remember. Where do you come across this paperwork?
