The cooler backpacks are a game changer at the beach. Not having to hump an ice chest is worth the money.

How did Yeti get so popular? I don't get their pricing and people lining up to pay for it. Are their products truly that great or this is "keeping up"?

Yeti is to coolers as Apple is to phones.

Both are fashion statements.
Both come with stickers.

Honestly, an ice mule is way better for a day trip and an 8th the price. Ice mule is 25% the weight but it only lasts for about 8 hrs.

Their tundra coolers, in my experience, hold ice for a day to day and half on a truck in the summer. My pelican was a better hard cooler but the same price and the pelican was much heftier for the same capacity.

Just about any cup can hold ice for several hours now or keep coffee hot for a long time. I’m not sure why people argue over whether a cup can hold ice for 2 days or 3 days, I drink the content in the matter of an hour anyway.

All this said, I have several yeti products. The camp chair is a fricking beast and super comfortable. Their warranty is crazy good.

but the idea of needing my ice to last a week

Only if you pre-cool it.
And only if you don't open the lid.

It's one of those things throw out there to justify spending all that on a cooler.

Ironically they have just recalled their cooler backpacks. Offering original value as gift card or an “equal” product.

Apparently the magnets were falling off and being eaten by kids

Yeah no way I could justify it. Plus there are so many similar knock off brands that are a lot less that do almost the same.
Think about how people feel about things when they are back in town from that week long camping Vaca, and they have to dump all that good ice out in their yards.
They say “ I’m so damn glad I didn’t need to buy that extra $3 bag of ice this time”. “This 400 dollar Yeti will most certainly pay for itself around the time I’m on my second family in 20 years.””Think of the savings after”. Ha

Their ice chest is superior to what you find at Walmart but anyone who says a Yeti will keep ice for a week in the Delta in the summer is full of shite.

People like you are the joke. Coolers from many brands are made in the same factories in China, and replacing $7 worth of stainless steel that was sold to you for $399 is a winner for the seller, every time.

Yeti for life? You are insane. It's a fricking cooler that needs ice. Igloo Extreme, same same, for 25% of the cost. But do the Yeti, and make sure your wife puts the 30A sticker on her SUV, so everyone knows you don't care about money.

I only use ice chests for beer and the beer is long gone before the ice melts in my 15 year old $50 igloo

Overpriced. Overhyped and a total pain in the arse to work with. There are better options without the bullshite they bring.

Meh. solid products, but there are legitimately better coolers out there that cost much less. Yeti is just great at marketing.

Take their coolers for example. There are certain people who actually require the kind of insulation their coolers provide, like serious outdoorsmen and charter captains.

Funny thing is most of those guys just buy a nice igloo for half the price

We own a marketing company and part of our services include selling apparel & promos. Yes, they are horrible. Frick yeti.
