My teenager has an Elantra which needs an inspection.

I took it to the local place Saturday morning and the technician tells me it's gonna fail because the "low frequency" horn isn't working.

The freaking horn honks when you push it but the tune isn't right

F ME - I've owned 20 cars over the years and never knew this.

F’ that.

Go to a local glass shop or windshield shop. They know glass, not horns.

Go to a different place.

That said, it's a simple fix. Change out one of the two horns that isn't working. Google is your friend.

Find an inspector that isn't a musician.

Mexicans blow the horn more than any other group. First thing they teach a new driver is where the horn is located.

If I invented a horn that plays "La Cucaracha" I bet I could die rich.

More likely to be heard that way. Lots of alerts use multiple frequencies for the same reason. Emergency vehicles, house alarms, etc.

Where is this pull apart(sic) located that gives away their inventory?

Wow. My teenager also has an Elantra. Coulda been me. Makes you think.

Thankfully I don’t live in a state with a so-called “car inspection” scam.
