We've had fat panics, sugar panics, milk panics, meat panics.

Bottom line, overzealous people panic. Eat what you want in moderation, life life to the fullest.

Holy shite, I totally forgot about those bibs! Did they not think 6yr olds could eat without spilling shite on their clothes?

Those plastic bibs are the first thing I think of when I think about McDonalds birthdays. They were great.

Yes my sister had one for her tenth birthday - I was 3 - we all got those brown McDonald’s balloons - I let mine go but she gave me hers, and tied it to my wrist

She’s still the best big sister

Yessss. I was just talking about Monkey Bizz yesterday.

I rode the Wild Mouse too many times to count. That thing was falling apart in the 70's and 80's. How they avoided a major disaster, I'll never know.

And the bumper cars legitimately were strong enough to cause whiplash like a real accident. They got shut down.

But never so sad as watching that poor chimp in that tiny cement cage, with no cover of sun, sweltering in the Summer. They would give her an ice cream cone periodically to cool her off. But loved watching potheads give her a cigarette to smoke

Ha I don’t remember any type of video game or electronics in ours but I’m probably a touch too old for that.

The hamburgler prison climbing structure that someone else posted was my absolute jam though. Those things were great.

When I was a kid growing up in Metry between Bonnabel and the Canal, the closest McDonald's was on Vets near Williams, and you had to eat outside. Then they built one on Cleary and Vets, which my parents didn't mind going to since it was closer. Then they opened one on Metry Rd, where's PJ's coffee is now, and we could ride our bikes there which was awesome...

Today, frick a bunch of McDonald's, I even convinced my kids it's nasty..

Hell yes. The old school Playplace McDonald's had was awesome as a young kid in the 80s. Wed play cops and robbers and take the robbers to the hamburger jail that was shaped like a burger with bars

What I've always found neat is that those jails were inspired by Cold War era radar defense stations.

I had mine there until I moved up to one at Showbiz. Looking back a McDonald's birthday party would be ultra trashy today.

Greenwell Springs and Monticello 1986 checking in.

I remember McDonalds would gift you a take home plate with all their marketing on it to encourage future visits. Ate many plates of my moms home cooked meals on one of these while always asking for McDonald’s the next night.

In the 2nd grade my friend from school, Brian, had his birthday party at McDonalds. I don't remember a lot from it, but I do remember winning the Big Mac Stack game, where you had to stack Big Mac cartons and whoever had the highest stack without it falling won. I think I won a coupon for a free small fry or something.

The next year, Brian had his birthday at Putt Putt, which was a lot more fun.

Never had birthday parties when I was kid.

Literally never knew anyone that had a McDonald's b-day party.

They opened a puttputt in city park in New Orleans for kids and families. Want to take a wild guess at what happened to it?

Yep! I remember this!

It was a lot hands-on.
