Living just north of Baton Rouge, this was a part of town that we frequented in the late 70's to the mid-80's. Kroger, Woolworths, Howard Brothers, K&B, The Rebel Theater, Krispy Kreme, and of course Delmont Village.
Grew up on Lorraine, went to St Gerard and RHS K-12. Mass on Sunday at St Gerard @ 11:30 then lunch at Piccadilly. We were lower middle class so this was one of the few eating out excursions for us. Can’t remember what entree was the go to but the Mac and cheese and chocolate pie were the bomb. Good times. Just reminds me of my mortality. Ces’t la vie!

Lots of folks behind those walls started at 7am. I remember working in the bake shop during the holidays. The freakin pies we put out.

Back in the day it was decent. I’d go with my grandfather. It’s been garbage for years now.

The one here in Monroe has always been excellent. I like being able to choose amongst the veggies and love their chopped steak.
And man&cheese is incredible. The manager said nutmeg was what made it taste good.

You want to talk about horrible food! I have never had a worse meal than at a Piccadilly.

Last time I ate in one was in the mall at Shreveport, around 2014, after my dad had a stroke. He was at the LSU hospital there. I ate there twice that week. It's where my dad wanted to go when he got out of the hospital.
When I was at NLU in the early 80's, I worked at Krauss and Cahn's Menswear at Eastgate Shopping Center. Used to eat a the Picadlly's out there often. Always loved their little chopped steak. Even as a kid I ate it.

the Plank Road location in the Delmont Village will permanently close after Aug. 26.

Their customers went dead. Cafeterias were where my grandparents ate. My grands have been gone for year
My grandparents on my dad’s side went to Piccadilly for Thanksgiving almost every year. They rarely wanted any part of a big family gathering on that day for whatever reason, I guess because they hosted Christmas Eve every year.

There's only been one decent cafeteria in BR the past decade and I'm afraid your political leanings would have you melt before entering the parking lot.

Back in the day to a growing boy, their big ol slab of fried cod fish or fried chicken was legit.

The food ain't the same anymore. Seriously? It's all changed.

There's going to be a mass of restaurants and businesses closing in the coming months all across the world. Trump is playing king of the world and going to bankrupt the entire world via tariffs. Like he bankrupted all his failed businesses
It’s about to all come down like a house of cards. Our economy is musical chairs and monopoly all rolled up in one. When the music stops the fat cats at the top of the economic food chain are the only ones sitting in the chairs. The rest of the peasants are left with our dick in our hands.

The Piccadilly in the Cortana Mall was the GOAT. Many memories of lunch there back in the 90s.

I was an assistant manager at the Cortana Piccadilly in the early 1990s. AMA.
There was an older hostess there that always remembered us and greeted us when we walked in. Me and my siblings were always excites to see her but I can’t for the life of me remember her name.

Their food is on a slide. I’m guessing there won’t be a wave of outrage but you never know with our retarded American brothers.
