In her prime, Debbie Harry was fine as frog hair.

Worship is definitely not the right word for Debbie Harry.

If anyone is interested; this is her today.

One of my favorite pictures I've seen of her.

Debbie Harry was definitely beautiful (albeit in a vapid way), but I've always preferred Stevie Nicks from that time period.

Likewise. Always have loved Stevie's music.

I wonder if many folks know that she was once employed by Hugh Heffner.

The honest truth is that there generally weren't any OT9+ in rock during that time.
Women like Debbie Harry were OK, but the women most guys would drool over during that time were either actresses, swimsuit models, or possibly video vixens.
I know this because I grew up during that period.

I wouldn't go so far as worship. But yeah, she's hot.

Saw her live in a very small club in Roanoke Rapids, NC. Those tight black leather pants...

She was my #1 crush in the late 70s and early 80s.

This x1000.

Blondie was legit. A good band, but a pretty thin discography by comparison. They were considered a legit NY live band and had that energy about them. I hated Rapture and that kind of killed it for me.

If you want your mind blown listen to The Pretenders first album LINK or second LINK

Indeed, almost every guy who went to HS in the lat 70's early 80's had a thing for Pat Benetar.

Hit me with your best shot.

Yeah, there were generally weren't any OT9+ in rock during that time.

The above are just the ones off the top of my head and there are many others including En Vogue and the other myriad of girl groups that started in the 80's, Paula Abdul, etc, etc

Blondie was a completely different kind of artist than a Stevie Nicks or Joan Jett, much more of an international sensation whereas most of the other comparisons made here were big in the US.

Love Crissie Hind and the early Pretenders, but they were much more punk than Blondie who were more pop.

Like the music or not, Blondie crossed genres and found fans across the board (Rapture the best example). I dig the stuff and because of her voice still sounds fresh to me when I occassionally hear it.

Former playboy bunny in the 60s turn pop icon. When her husband got sick she shut it all down to take care of him.

Blondie OT Rating? I say 4, at best

How does dick taste, because you're obviously gay. She was a legit OT 9. I treasured my Playboy with Debbie Harry when I was a kid.
ETA: ...though not as much as the Bo Derek issue that I got in trade for a little green turtle from a black kid at school. Guess they don't have turtles in da hood.

I was a kid then but she wasn't that big a thing really. She was a star but she wasn't one of the biggest stars around like on the level of Taylor swift, Rihanna, or Beyoncé. Plus their music was classified as disco and straight white guys were either too cool or not cool enough for disco. They (and her) really only had a few years run where they were relevant.

They sold 40 million records - I think "relevant" is a bit of an understatement.

Actually they came out of the NY punk scene and you would find their records in the "new wave" section, Rapture notwithstanding. The disco label only applied to a few songs. You could say the same thing about the Rolling Stones on half of Some Girls. It was a weird, sucky time for legit bands trying to stay "relevant" and getting pressure from record labels.
