This is going to be vague. But I remember someone had challenged him about something and used the “when the cows come home” phrase. So he had these cardboard cutouts of cattle made, fenced in the field next to his business on hwy 90, and every day he’d move them about a foot closer to the business.

Ole man Eddy was a nut too. He had that Cadillac on display on Hwy 90 as a “Lemon” he bought from a local dealership for a long time in the 90’s.

Catfish farming in the Ms Delta was the same way in the 80s and 90s. It was huge money then. Farmers driving Lincoln town cars on ponds, private jets, sports cars, huge parties every weekend with hired strippers and plenty of drugs, illegal gambling, etc. shite was crazy back then.

The Knights in Louisiana, Arkansas and Texas are all related. They all know how to make money from nothing. It must be something in their DNA, but one can open a snowball stand and become a millionaire. However, the ones I know are all sociopaths.

Most die young, but if they make it to their 60's they live to 100.

TL;DR Two brothers owned a private oil service company in Lafayette. One brother liked cocaine and whewers. The other brother had a lavish spending problem and also hated his younger brother, so he tried to frame him by working with the local police to plant drugs in his car

This is basically the entire plight of the Boomers, aka the generational trust fund babies who never had to worry for shite and just had everything handed to them by The Greatest Generation. "They no longer strived to build an empire but only to hold on to the one they were born into."

someone I am very close with was an attorney for the company during its final years; some of their board meetings lasted 12 hours.

Constant fight over control and money. All these people are nuts.

I knew the general story but enjoyed reading some of the details from the article.

One of my close friends knew the guy that started Patterson Rental Tools many years ago. If I understand correctly, Eddy was a salesman for Patterson and worked a deal to rent some of the Patterson tools through his 'startup' (Knight Oil Tools).

I read that last summer while on an awesome vacation at the beach.
Sitting at home this year

Cool story though. Makes it easier to grasp the concept of frick You money.
