Did anyone deal with "teal pumpkin" kids last night?

I had never heard of it but a mother and her child asked if I was a "teal pumpkin" house. The kid had a little teal colored pumpkin sticker on his shirt. I told her I had no clue what that meant and she looked at me like she just smelled cat shite. Apparently it's for kids with food allergies and I should have had a "non-food" item to give her kid.

I believe it's for kids allergic to peanuts. It's not a bad idea and not hard to accommodate but some people get obnoxious about it.

I've never heard of "teal pumpkin", but my wife did make some non-candy stuff for those types of kids.
None were given out though.

Yeah its for kids with food allergies. If you have non-food treats your supposed to put a teal pumpkin in your yard to signify. Not sure why the lady would get all bitchy if you didn't have a teal pumpkin in your yard. stupid on her part.

We're living in the age where no good deed goes unpunished. It's not good enough that you thought you'd bring joy to dozens of children with candy... you're an a-hole for not having any gluten free pizza dough for Jimmy.
On the other hand though, I don't think it's a terrible idea. If a kid has a legit food allergy you'd like to think of ways for him to feel included in the holiday.
But the parents of these kids shouldn't be so judgmental... I'm surprised if the mom actually threw shade at you.

I found out last night via my neighborhoods nextdoor app. Luckily I had about 50 glow in the dark necklaces and bracelets leftover from Mardi Gras?!? IIRC. Only had two or three that I handed out, but yea it comes across as a little strange. I get it, but it's hard to gauge A what am I expected to have for the kid and B how many kids with FA will be trick or treating my area.

Just sort out the shite your kid is allergic to when checking the candy for razor blades, needles, and stealing the reese's pieces. It's not that hard.
