Haven’t heard of that one, not sure what era that was.. but i can tell you that in the early 80s, if a baw wanted to get laid he’d better head to the Hired Hand Saloon in Elmwood, or Denim & Diamonds in Metrybra

More like Sherwood burned it down. When I first got into the pipeline business full time and moved to H-town in 1995, we did a big pipeline project for Exxon and had a warehouse off 225 in Deer Park. Sherwood Cryer was the property owner and he was also part owner of Gilley's with Mickey (I think he was also in Urban Cowboy too but I digress). He also controlled the liquor licenses in Pasadena and we heard was a mobster. He would come to our warehouse every Friday to collect rent.

Rumor was that him and Mickey got sideways and he torched it.
