He was just a fling for her. She would have dumped him for some country club type within a few months. Bud was able to figure that out. Cissy was going to give him 3-5 years and the makings of a solid middle infield before Jody made his appearance.

There was another club called Winchester's. My cousin told me that's where the locals went. Gilley's was for tourists.

That house was perfect. Underneath a hi-line in a subdivision so new there wasn't any grass.

Yup...The writers of that movie really did their homework I thought. They nailed the whole atmosphere and attitude of that time and area.

CSB...I have a friend who has a unit in the building where Pam’s apartment scenes were filmed. 2016 Main.

Watched the movie last night. One of the few movies I will stop and watch whole thing over and over.

I never made it to Gilleys as it was before my time but through the 90's you could always find me in a Honky-Tonk bar somewhere from Katy tx to Destin fl.

Today, it is hard pressed to find a good Honky-tonk as there are very few remaining. It's kind of sad because I would love to go somewhere and take the wife every now and then and do a little 2-stepping without having to listen to some dance rap crap.

Travolta had a reserved table at the Ninfa's on Westheimer. You can still ask to be seated at the table.

There was an extended version of the movie- saw it once and have never seen it again. If I remember correctly, some scenes were of them outside a church and of them buying boots in s store.

Cryer had a liquor store out on 225. Not sure if there anymore but was last time I drove by in early 00's.

Gilley's had people in the parking lot placing Gilley's stickers on bumpers whether you liked it or not.

Gilley's beer was god-awful.

It was my favorite movie and soundtrack there for awhile. Didn't they used to stick their bumper stickers on cars in the parking lot, or was that something i made up as a kid?

We laughed pretty hard at the guys who made the pilgrimage to Gilley's when that movie came out.
