Amazon is going more and more third party so they are more unreliable. Most anything shipped and sold from Walmart is sent from a nearby store.

I do Subscribe and Save.
Isn't having Prime required for that?
If not, I may cancel as well.
I never get shite delivered out here in the sticks in under 5 days anyway

Walmart+ is a PITA. They will make you choose store delivery with no option for shipping and then they want you to tip $7 as a default. IDC if it comes in an hour or a few days so just ship it. When you don't tip they don't prioritize your order. Just let me use regular shipping or don't advertise free delivery with + if you want to make me tip for a service I don't need. If I wanted something NOW and needed it today and I couldn't go I would tip the driver but not for a forced service when shipping should be an option.

I get it all the time in Chattanooga. Got same day the Wednesday before thanksgiving on some stuff needed for the next day.,

I’ve flirted with the idea of cancelling, curious to know what you decide

For us, it's a couple of gallons of gas to go to Knoxville to try to find things in stores. Sometimes stores lie and tell us that have 'it' in their inventory and they don't. When we order from Amazon, 'it' arrives when they say it will.
Most times there are more expensive options if we need it faster.
And we, too, are getting a huge Amazon distribution center where one shopping center used to be. Right now most stuff comes from Lexington KY. It will be interesting to see how things change when the sprawling thing opens.

I don’t have to deal with that, I live in podunk. It’s store pick up or shipped. No delivery around here

I don't think so. I just ordered 3 items that will be here overnight. And if I had ordered earlier, they would have been delivered by 10.
It may just depend on the items.

Probably not too far off. Their infrastructure has grown so large and the average miles per delivery is probably pretty low.
They have internal KPIs to ship items within a certain amount of hours from order times, trailer cut times to get items out the door post picking and delivery eta promises kept %.

They might as well since the two day delivery has long been a farce. Not sure the Amazon Prime is of any value at all. Actually, Amazon has become a sad joke.

That does frick all for shipping times. Seriously, again, I've found nothing from Amazon that will be shipped to me same or next day. Hell, I've yet to buy anything that has been shipped from that damn warehouse.

I have no idea, about to cancel. I just checked a dozen items and every delivery date is the same. Prime vs Non-prime
maybe due to Christmas season?

Probably, but once again why pay for prime shipping when it the time you actually need it. No other company seems to have issues shipping within a few days where I live. Was not that long ago they offered same day shipping after the distribution center was built.
I went ahead and cancelled the auto renewal. They won't offer you a refund unless you contact them.

With that being said, explain the logic of this with the postal service. An item I ordered arrived at the post office last night at 6 pm from Amazon. Then a second item from the same order arrived this morning at 3 am at the post office from Amazon. The item that arrived at 3 am shows it will be delivered today, but the item that arrived yesterday will arrive tomorrow. That is some geniuses that work at the post office. You would think the mail first in would be the first out.
Some of this may not be Amazon’s fault directly, but depending on a government agency to do your dirty work for last mile deliveries is what is killing your business. I wonder once the Baton Rouge distribution center opens, one day delivery will come back to southeast Louisiana.
And expand its own delivery network to the bayou region instead of just BTR and NOLA.

And 90% of the shite on Amazon now is unheard of Chinese brands.

2 weeks ago I ordered a pack of Bandaids and 2 fishing rods from Amazon. They sent the Bandaids by UPS in a box that could have easily accommodated a 12 pack of paper towels. They sent ONE of the rods by USPS. Poor mail lady could barely fit it in her Jeep. The other rod? Who knows where it landed. Amazon customer service is sending another next week. Unreal how crappy they have become.
