Try anything you believe will help, they are some treatments out there that seem absurd but have helped some. Don't feel sorry for yourself and give in, give it the good fight. You will find out pretty quickly who are the people who really care and love you and who are too selfish. God Bless

That's unfortunate, but I would seek out doctors who specialize in that kind of cancer if you can. Medical science is making huge strides every day.

Prayers to you dude. I know a guy that fought pancreatic cancer and won, but at this point I don't have to tell you what the odds are, you already know. I truly wish I knew what to tell you, but I don't. Lost my Mom to cancer when I 6 and 3 years ago my best friend died of cancer complications. Just pray if your a man of faith and fight like hell. But at the same time savor every moment and leave no regrets.

I had initially decided to not get any treatment and my family said they would support any decision I made. I then spoke with my doctor who I really trust (not my oncologist) and he suggested I try a couple of rounds of chemo and then get a PET scan to see if there is any reduction of the tumor. If I feel it is not for me or not going to work then I can quit the treatments. I can assure you no one is going to make me get treatments if I decide it is not worth it!??

I would try Emory Hospital in Atlanta if I were you. My father-in-law (72 years old) was diagnosed with gall bladder and liver cancer 2 years ago. He was told by his doctor that they could make him comfortable but the cancer was inoperable.
After sending several letters and making several calls, we got him in to Emory. They did a trial on him with Y-90. It's normally used for liver cancer only. After 6 months of treatment, he was and still is completely cancer free.

I personally would not recommend that approach. It sounds like your cancer is locally advanced. A cycle of chemo may make your cancer resectable (at major academic centers with skilled hepatobiliary surgeons) and put you on a track you don't want to be on, where you end up too far down the treatment tunnel and feel like you can't turn back.
Decide what makes life worth living for you. If it's simply being alive no matter the state for as long as possible, go ahead and exhaust every option.

My dad was diagnosed 2b in March of 2014 and passed away in May this year. He had the Whipple procedure.

Prayers for you. I personally recommend MD Anderson and Emory hospital. They are working miracles everyday and saved my moms life recently.

Prayers sent. I do know first hand what you are going through. I have stage iv colon cancer with tumors on the liver. I am currently undergoing chemo in the hope that my liver becomes resectable. I don't know what the next day will bring but I am trying to live my life like nothing is going on.

I have had several cancer survivors tell me that attitude is critical.
Remember, how people treat you says more about them than it does about you.
Most people do not know how to handle death and will avoid you. That is not your fault.
I had a health care professional tell me I was dying and I needed to just go home. I had him officially reprimanded! That was 4 years ago and I am still here.

Thanks CS - I have been contemplating going to MD Anderson. Everything just happened so fast - still trying to absorb everything.
