DHS funded non-profit demands ‘GamerGate 2’ be denounced by video game studios

A Brazilian man used a sensitivity reader company’s own list of video games that they consulted on to make a consumer curator list on Steam, a video game store. The employees of this Canadian company and their flying monkey friends then tried to cancel the guy, Kabrutus on Twitter/X, and defame him.

“GamerGate” was something from 10 years ago where a woman, Zoey Quinn, cheated on her bf with five other guys for favors in the video game industry to unsuccessfully further her career. She then accused a man of SA and ruined his career after which he ended himself.

“GamerGate 2” is just a Brazilian man making a list saying ‘these guys worked on this game, so you probably don’t wanna waste $70 on buying it’ and wokies are crying ‘racism and sexism’.

And apparently it requires Department of Homeland Security funding because the wokies ‘mental health’ is being affected by the reality of capitalism and consumer feedback.

In a recent post by Take This, the organization labeled the backlash Sweet Baby is facing as “Gamergate 2” and blaming the lion’s share of harassment on gamers, despite the initial harassment coming from Sweet Baby employees. Take This went on to use their platform to call on the industry to “denounce Gamergate”, despite Sweet Baby Inc. Detected seemingly having no affiliation with it.

“Discord, Steam, and X have been the predominant platforms where the abuse and harassment has been taking place. In these spaces, lists of game studios, companies, and associated organizations are being circulated for targeting by members of the mob… As scholars and journalists have noted, the targeted harassment, hate, and cultural norms that were at the heart of Gamergate in the mid 2010’s never went away.”

As for the government ties to Take This, the Department of Homeland Security at least partially funds the organization. You can see their disclaimer for yourself here.

Earlier this month, we reported on the Sweet Baby Inc. Detected Steam curator which informs users if Sweet Baby has been involved with a game. Sweet Baby employee Chris Kindred criticized the group to their followers, they went even further by encouraging others to mass flag not only the curator, but the curator’s personal Steam account.

This was seemingly done with the intent to punish him by taking away the games he bought and paid for.

What companies like Sweet Baby, Inc do is to advise a company how to bring in their team of top-notch narrative drivers in order to deconstruct the game's story and then rebuild it to make the upcoming game more socially accepting, diverse, inclusive, etc. What this means in reality is anything from subtly pushing transism as being normal (Hogwarts) to degrading specifically white male leading characters into being weak idiots (the difference between Joel in Last of Us vs the sequel) in order to make some character who is not a straight, white male into a more central figure.
