A few years ago, I'm driving up I 49 towards Shreveport. It was a hot July day, and I see a white Great Dane (with black spots) about 20 feet off the roadway. I loop back to see what the problem was. It quickly became obvious that the dog had a bad hip and someone had dumped it there. No water, and not much mobility.

Sheriff's deputy stops. We approach the dog, which is scared, and she lashes out growling and barking. Not much anyone could do for the poor dog, so the deputy shoots the dog. It whined and wagged its tail for about three seconds, then was gone.

It broke my heart.

Lizards have no chance. My sisters parrots can walk around her cats. The cats are afraid of them.

There are plenty of stray dogs out there making it on their own. They are all over monroe and Baton Rouge

You are an a-hole, but a good a-hole for ruining all of our day.

You should be commended.

We had a runt cat that was very clever. She was also fearless, but she wasn't very big. A big tomcat stray was badgering her all the time. We had a Belgian Malinois who was fiercely protective of everything including our cats.

One day, I watch our cat meander back into the back yard with the stray cat right behind her. She went out into the middle of the yard, stray behind her. Belgian was sleeping by the french doors some distance away from the cat. All of a sudden, our cat makes a loud hissing/fear noise and the Belgian races over and chases the stray out of the yard (almost caught the cat as it went over the fence).

Pretty damn clever, and we never saw or had a problem with the stray cat.

There are a lot of dogs that would be just fine, but yeah, some dogs like miniature schnauzers probably wouldn’t last too well

if all humans disappeared today, Dogs would rule the earth. but only for about a generation or so.

too many have been spayed/neutered so they wouldn’t be able to keep their population up like they would need to long term.

Suck on that, cat weirdos.

Accidental downvote.

Humans don’t deserve dogs.

I’m going to go hug both of mine now.

We don't want or need stray cats or dogs. So it's not a problem

Hachi was on yesterday. Good movie, but so sad.

It was two hours of me saying "why am I watching this?"
