what in the 2nd Amendment differentiates between 18 and 21 year olds?
Nothing, but you already know that. However, until challenged, the law is still the law.
To take your logic further, what, under the 2A, differentiates between 18 year old and a 17 year old? How about a 15 year old or a 12 year old? Where does your specific argument end and why?
Because 18 is grown & the transition changes your legal status from a minor under parental control to an independent individual with full constitutional rights and responsibilities.
The law is unconstitutional, but you already know that.

Right. But that wasn't my point.
And you didn't answer the main point of my reply. Do you agree or disagree that, in our society, there should be some sort of age limits, not listed in the 2a, that applies to who may and may not carry/own/posses a firearm (and underwhatcondition)? How low is that number? Should a toddler be able to conceal carry? Obviously not. So if you agree on that, and every sane person should, all we're talking about now is where to set that number as a society. I think we both agree 18 is the number, but that's not the law of today. And until that is settled, you have to abide by it. I'd hate for someone, "a good guy", to get charged with and convicted of committing a felony and lose the 2a privileges going forward.

Gotcha. 18 seems right but kids start driving legally at 16. Should they not be allowed to defend themselves?
