Essence and Jazz Fest both will not occur in 2020.

WHY are we making decisions about fall events NOW, in April, when rates are falling?

Fall events everywhere are starting to get cancelled or go virtual. I seriously don't get it.

I have seen this a few times, why are y'all doing this?

Also, I have no idea. Seems short-sighted at best.

I imagine there are significant financial deposits placed that have very clearly defined escalation dates.

Los Angeles and San Fran are now saying (thanks to the Destroya) that they will likely also be cancelling all events until 2021 including collegiate and professional sports.

Might as well include the Bayou Classic, while they are at it.

Football season is next. Majority of states won’t reopen until there’s a vaccine and you can forget any major sporting or concert events until maybe summer of 2021.

Sadly I agree with you UNLESS Biden wins the presidency then all of the sudden things will open up quickly.

To be fair...Jazz Fest was never going to happen...

The Fairgrounds wasnt going to let that happen in October right before race season... and with Buku being moved to Labor Day weekend along with Decandance Fest and FQF being Oct 1st and Voodoo in City Park at the end of October....there was no time or location for JF to set up and tear down

It's inevitable at this point. Bozo leaders a cancelling today mass gathering events that aren't supposed to take place until the fall. Football games are some of the largest mass gathering events in many states.

First race is Turkey Day... so would have had a few weeks. Would have been a tight schedule for tear down, but I believe it would have been a reduced festival anyways, not as many stages, etc. Also would have horses moving in while stages are moving out.

Sure about that...I thought the same thing to a neighbor the other day and she corrected me that she's been to watch races in mid to early November....yes it's definitive open Thanksgiving but I think it opens a few week earlier.

AssPee can confirm that
