such as?
I mean you have examples in the OP.
Basically environmental groups trying to hog permits by limiting development and access.

Francis Thompson has entered the chat...
"Hey, baws! You guys been to Black Bear yet? Want to buy a home on the reservoir that's in what is essentially a private subdivision protected by La State Parks?"

what is keeping anyone from accessing these parks or getting a proper permit if needed?

People have to have golf courses and condos in order to have access?

I don't golf anymore, but having more lodging in state parks will definitely attract more people to visit and enjoy the parks, increasing revenue to make them more sustainable and better staffed and the habitats better managed. It doesn't make sense to drive more than an hour for a day at a state park, but if there were lodging where I could stay the night, I would definitely travel to more and further away state parks. And I'm sure there are a million of me out there. Back to golf and pickleball, while they wouldn't be a draw for me personally, I do recognize they are extremely popular and it makes logical sense these amenities would draw more visitors to the parks, who would then hike trails and enjoy the intended nature experience as part of their stay as well, when they otherwise wouldn't have driven 3 hours to check it out.

I was unaware this was actually solved, and that's weird... because a childhood neighbor is the lead engineer on the Okeechobee army corp o' engineering project they have going on.
Never said it was solved.

I see what you are saying, but I don't believe that State Parks in Florida have a problem with lack of visitors. Its just not really a thing. I really don't know if many of them are understaffed, but the ones around me seem to be staffed just fine.

You can lodge in the form of camping at most of these Parks. I am not opposed to more rustic cabins and the like, but I just don't see the need for big lodges or hotels.

No, but it opens the parks up to more and different people.
What is wrong with golf courses at a park?

I personally think that it takes away from the natural spirit of a wild place. Not to mention all the construction and destruction that is required to build a golf course. When I go to a state park, I want to be in nature, and away from civilization. Golf courses don't fit into that equation.

When you see a sign that says "Golf Course, Turn Right" just keep going straight to the vast wilderness area you desire.

If this were a Democrat governor of Florida proposing this, the naysayers in this thread would be lauding what a wonderful reinvestment into the state's natural resources this is, and say thank God we have a Democrat now, after Desantis neglected these resources over the years.

It's like watching someone you love die slow
Yeah, they're killing her one piece at a time
I know some fools who think I should let go
But the've never seen Florida through my eyes
I know you're out there hiding from me
You get harder and harder to find
Every day she keeps slipping away
Florida please don't fade on me now

Unicoi state park in the NGA mountains has a lodge (that's what you call condos in the mountains) and cabins and pavement surrounding their mountain lake. It's beautiful, and one of the most popular parks in GA.
Unicoi lodge is only 96 rooms. The proposed lodges in Florida are almost 4 times that size.

Development on state parks can be done in responsible and intelligent ways.
9 parks with lodging 4x the size of one of Georgia's most popular parks doesn't seem responsible or intelligent, and neither do you

I haven't called anyone names or resorted to flaming in this thread. I have asked legitimate questions and made legitimate points. Many pages of discourse have been had. And now the ad hominem attacks begin.
