frick golf courses. Biggest waste of space. Make them just open greenspace.

He probably wants to develop it into travel ball fields.

How the frick did we become so low as a society we now believe developing on a state park is a good idea?

Most state parks have many acres of RV slips, pavement, plugins, pumpouts, that's also a form of development. Are you against those too?

No one is keeping people out of parks. But Disney-fying parks is a different matter. There needs to be a balance of accessibility, because these places need to remain wild.

Unicoi state park in the NGA mountains has a lodge (that's what you call condos in the mountains) and cabins and pavement surrounding their mountain lake. It's beautiful, and one of the most popular parks in GA. The cabins rent out nearly a year in advance. There's also a good deal of pavement for a road/trail going up to the local waterfall, and another one leading to the near by tourist town of Helen.
Development on state parks can be done in responsible and intelligent ways. We have this outrage culture today where nobody even wants to look at the plans and see how impactful it may or may not be. Bad man wants to build something/improve amenities at some of the parks, Noooooo! How dare he!

Cool, doesn’t mean I agree with it. Developing on a state park goes against everything a state park stands for, that’s just my individual opinion. State parks and reserves should be left undeveloped as much as possible yet public still has access to enjoy them. I get roads may need to be built, at least dirt or gravel roads. I simply don’t agree with lodges, condos, or golf courses. It shouldn’t be about money, it should be about citizens enjoying the preservation of nature.

building hotels, pickle ball courts, and golf courses is Disneyfication, yes.

No one is arguing that state parks don't already have some development, what we are arguing is that they don't need more unnecessary development. I respect your opinion, but the bottom line is that tax payers are overwhelmingly against this, and IMO, that should be the bottom line.

Environmental types want to be the only people using green spaces.
They do everything they possibly can to limit other people from utilizing parks.

Waste of money. It’s not the job of the government to provide parks.

They lobby for restricted areas, then use political clout to get the limited permits.
I've dealt with them for 25 years on public land use.
They'll fight any proposal that helps the masses only to support proposals that favor their groups.
