Anyone else think the quick manslaughter charge for the recent police shooting that is pretty clearly manslaughter was to influence the jury in coming back with guilty for manslaughter since the state knows murder is a long shot?

Actually the prosecution rested its case in chief. If you were watching the prosecution finally rested after its rebuttal witness. It's only how trial procedure has been at common law since before this county was founded.

The problem that is see happening is that the jury deliberation room is going to be dominated by a few vocal woke people and anyone that doesn’t agree is going to be labeled a racist.

This is really what is at trial in this case for me. Does mob rule, cancel culture, and woke points influence a jury in today’s society.

I am glad that DC chose not to testify. That would have given the world's most boring group of attorneys the chance to drone on forever, beating the same dead horses, and driving home facts that are not facts.

The Sheriff will sequester next week and the Sheriff is near.

Do some of the jurors that disagree with a conviction go along with it because of pressure from the whole people in the room?

Unfortunately this probably happens all the time. That's why during jury selection the defense was looking for leaders instead of sheep... Hope they can hold true...

So Monday we will get the Prosecution Close, possibly the Defense Close and Tuesday the Prosecution Rebuttal to close and the jury gets the case?

Then we will get Dan, Nancy, and Greta versions 2.892382 to tell us what they jury is doing, while not having a clue.

So did I hear correctly that Nelson got Toobin to state that GF had an oxygen level of 98%? Would that destroy the idea that GF died as a result of low oxygen?

I'm thinking closing arguments for both, jury instruction from the judge all Monday and the jury gets the case that afternoon.

And hear all about the missing test.

CNN will do a good job of coaching them to understand the test means chauvin is guilty but they shouldn’t mention they know about the test

Which leads me to something I've said in this thread 4 or 5 times: It's complete insanity this jury wasn't sequestered from the very beginning. It's damn near impossible for anyone in this country to not see at least some coverage of this trial daily. Now, it's just human nature to be curious and inquisitive. You'll never convince me that most, if not every last one, is checking out any and all coverage of this trial. Even if it's just to see if they made it onto TV that day.

Again, it's insane to me that the judge's instructions to the jury at the beginning was: "Try and avoid any coverage of this case." "Yes, Your Honor, I'll avoid any coverage of the biggest trial in the history of the state of Minnesota. No way I'll inadvertently see anything about this country's biggest trial where racial tensions and/or race relations are put front and center by the media. Yes sir."

Insanity.

Even if they are watching a Seinfeld rerun, there are the commercials. "Catch the latest on DC murdering GF. Details at 11."

The slide they referenced said that Floyd's carboxyhemoglobin could have increased by 10-18% (not TO 10-18%). Even if his number was 2, then a 10-18% increase would only be 2.36 max which is still in the normal range. There really isn't a need for this rebuttal witness.

Carboxyhemoglobin is chronically elevated in people who smoke cigarettes.

There is no set number, but as an ER doctor anything below 7 makes my butthole pucker. Some DKA patients can get to 6.9 and it’s not a big deal. But if I have a patient with sepsis with those numbers I get scared.

I'm not sure they can do that. I believe they have to find him innocent or guilty based on the charge he was accused of?

Not completely sure, though.

He's charged with 2nd and 3rd degree murder and 2nd degree manslaughter
