Where is everyone on this case?
For me there is a lot of reasonable doubt...from a lot of evidence. It certainly isn't murder
That said, I think Chauvin will be held accountable for negligence...from being unaware GF was unconscious. Offered no aid...I think this part of the case is a legit problem for Chauvin.
I would argue if I'm DC..."the guy was on drugs... he said he couldn't breathe several times when we were not touching him, ... clearly he could breathe from arguing with us, resisting our commands...I thought he finally calmed down and passed out"
To me, that's pretty much what video and audio evidence show us...
That's not murder...
I don't think it's manslaughter either, but it might get ruled that way because mistakes were made.
If you're juror, what's your take?

I didn;t see that part. I am too busy supporting my family and not fighting the Po-leece when I get pulled over to catch every detail of those who do. Does that work out for them most of the time?

This is the only part I see as problematic for him.
As I recall the EMT had to tell him to get off Floyd so they could do their thing.

Would Chauvin come across like a cold Scott Peterson?
If so, I would not put him on the stand.
Can he come across as compassionate, dedicated, hard worker type? If so, then maybe.
The judge is allowing the prosecution to demand only yes and no answers and not allow a explanation that leaves Chauvin wide open to helping the prosecutors narrative.

Honest answer is I have not watched enough to give you a fair answer.
I made comment above because of small clips I saw where he would not allow witness to expound on his answer. (Which again I think is BS). But overall, I could not give you a fair / legit answer to your question.
BUT with that said, Minn has (as Louisiana has recently) unanimous verdict rule, and that (in my opinion) is gonna be a high hurdle for either side. To get 12 to agree on lunch is a feat in and of itself.

Last thought for the evening... and again with the caveat that I have not followed every witness and their testimony:
Has the term or discussion of petechiae come up on either side? And if not, why not? In a murder case (or any) involving strangulation, or asphyxiation it a common “tell”. Simplest way to explain to a jury is tiny blood vessels burst in the eye when strangled or air flow ceases. Called a petechial hemorrhage. Tiny blood spots in the eye.
If he died of the knee on neck, likely has. If other causes, likely won’t.

This not how that went down.
The amount of time Floyd was “unresponsive” prior to paramedics arriving was small. Prior to that he was still vocal. Until he had the cardiac event. He also had another officer confirm Floyd was breathing. Chauvin had on gloves and never checked a pulse. Another officer did a said he couldn’t feel one. Should something have been done in that short window prior to EMT walking over? Maybe. That charge would be more professional misconduct or civil not any of the three pending charges.
The paramedic comes over and checks pulse then goes back to get a stretcher. Then they all load him onto stretcher. A few minutes later the first compressions happen.

Caught up with one of my liberal lawyer friends today. She couldn’t stop taking about how great the prosecution’s witnesses and cross examination have been.
I tried to listen to her but I simply haven’t seen it that way. I found most the prosecution’s witnesses to be highly ineffective and unprofessional.

Him dying from the car exhaust is interesting

He should walk, but wont. Thoughts of mob rule is going to scare the shite out of jury, so they will convict him on most severe charge.

Doesn’t have to be on the eye, can be on skin too.. I get them on my face if I vomit, especially dry heaving

The defense has brought that up
The prosecution states that it wasn’t strangulation. They argue that Chauvin slowly killed him by restricting his breathing over 9 minutes. I guess their point is that chauvin put him in a position where his oxygen slowly decreased until his heart eventually stopped, and that it wasn’t a sudden strangulation.
I believe you get petechiae because of the hands around the neck compressing the veins and blood basically backing up and busting through vessels. They aren’t saying his neck was compressed from both sides.
I think it’s bogus but thats what they are saying.

I read that the defense had another medical examiner who was going to testify.
