Did this guy just say he didn't do toxicology on the stomach contents? He just saw some bread fragments, case closed?
Gastric contents aren’t typically tested unless perhaps you want to prove an intentional overdose by quantifying a large amount of swallowed pills. If the presence of a drug is significant, it’ll be in the blood sample.

The prosecutions witness disagrees with you.
She said if she found Floyd dead in his home with a heart like that she would say he died because of his heart.
So yes, his heart condition could be fatal.

But what if you took pills and they hadn’t fully digested yet?? Wouldn’t that be important?

undigested pills wouldnt have any physiologic effect.

The forensic pathologist from this morning
That was a pretty aggressive response by you after not even watching the trial this morning.

Just tuned in about 10 minutes ago, but that didn't go well for the prosecution.

I'd beg to differ. The fentanyl is the direct reason for the neck restraint.

If you wanted to prove those pills were recently ingested, you could test.
But for these drugs to have an effect, they would need to be in the bloodstream, which was already tested.
I suppose the defense could be interested in what was in the gastric contents in this case to demonstrate that he had recently ingested fentanyl, but I guess they didn’t attempt to have testing performed.
Either way, he had 11ng of fentanyl in his bloodstream.

Again the prosecution questioning doesn't seem to have any clear cut direction and didn't even tie it up at the end.

So the heart disease and drugs contributed to Floyd's death but weren't the direct cause. Was Chauvin supposed to know Floyd had swallowed a bunch of fentanyl or had an underlying heart condition? If Floyd didn't have those issues would he have died with Chauvin making the exact same actions?

I can't believe how short that direct questioning was and it ended so abruptly after saying that the drugs and heart issue contributed. Seems like an oof from the State.

he basically got the ME to reiterate what's on the report we've all seen already... that he believed neck restraint was the main cause of death
