Seems like a lot of people here want Floyd’s killer to be acquitted - am I missing something?

CNN reported the pro/anti Floyd lines were strangely almost perfectly aligned with demographics but I would be surprised if that’s true. Most people in our firm (all white male lawyers) want to see justice for any case of police brutality.

Pretty sure everyone wants to see his drug dealer charged.

I think people want the law to be applied and think that Chauvin is being tried to appease rioters and domestic terrorists. Not to get justice.

You knot heads are obviously not watching the trial then.

Oh no you're totally wrong. The majority here do want Floyds killer to go to prison. The difference is those on here watching the trial now know the killers name was Morries Hall not Derrick Chauvin.

Anyone have any idea when a verdict might come down?

You feeling the need to point that out is very telling.

Based on what we (the people that have actually been following this trial so far) cannot see how a unanimous jury can see any evidence that proves he is guilty of the charges. That is the prosecutions job and they are failing to prove anything beyond a reasonable doubt

Besides a video of DC with his knee appearing to be pinning GF down by the neck area, and the asphyxiation purportedly being a contributing factor in his death. Regardless of whether one agrees with that alleged evidence, that's why the state brought charges. Chauvin will need a medical expert to convince the jury that the death was proximately due to an OD, and we haven't gotten there yet.

CNN and HLN talking heads admitting the defense had a great day.

I disagree. The drug testimony so far would already lead to reasonable doubt to a normal person.

A lot of these jurors are probably INCREDIBLY uneasy about acquitting because of what may happen to them

They are INCREDIBLY uneasy about if they can get their "Behind the Scenes and Real Secrets of the George Floyd Trial" book published sooner than the other jurors.

I watched a few days of jury selection and I am pretty sure that every person I saw was lying their arse off trying to get on the jury.

Would Floyd have died no matter what based on the amount of drugs in his system?

If no, or we can’t say to a certainty, then I think the death would have to be attributable to the actions of the officer.

And no, we’re not watching the trial. We have day jobs. I can only read the news in the evening and catch up.

reasonable doubt

People in this thread that have never served on a jury have no clue how much weight this carries. All it takes is one

Yeah, that guy is talking out of his arse. He's already convicted Chauvin in his head but for some reason doesn't want to come out and admit it.

Because they all thought it was probably an easy conviction. Now that it’s not...

How any reasonable person can see the state’s evidence thus far and not think their is doubt that Chauvin killed Floyd is beyond me

And defense hasn’t even come to the plate
