Wow, me thinking that a woman getting raped and ends up dead is horrible gets your disapproval should say a lot about you.

How close was it to the roadway?
I have a feeling the video their defense lawyer is handing over make create even more charges for the perps.
If they emailed the sex video to anyone, that may implicate others in the crime for voyeurism charges.
If you drop off, say, a puppy by I-10. Are you morally responsible when it gets run over 3 minutes later?
If she's 4x the legal limit and they put her off near the road... she can barely see or stand. Seem like a proper analogy.
The rape also further disoriented her.
I have been with two friends who were 'black out drunks.' Went past the buzz, past drunk, kept kickiing them back to pass out stage. I never went out with them after seeing that. I told them both to quit. Neither did. One was in a terrible wreck later.
So to say 'she was responsible' means you really don't have friends that are drunks.
Also, consider the age. College kids do stupid things. Doesn't justify raping them and leaving them roadside to later die.

As the father of a young woman this would be my worst nightmare.
Chris Jansen had a song called "Drunk Girl" a few years ago that said
"That's how you know the difference between a boy and a man. You take a drunk girl home."
She needed a man to step in and do the right thing but sadly for her fell victim to these "boys".
Sad all around because many lives will be ruined by this incident.

I don't know I was asking where she was dropped.

If they drop her off and she's killed a few minutes later = manslaughter.
The driver said she wanted out of the vehicle. IF true what choice did he have or any other driver would have? Even if she was intoxicated. He cant refuse...that could be considered be kidnapping right?
And just out of curiosity, was she dropped off anywhere near where she actually lived?

Where was she dropped? I've heard different things and after scanning the Arrest Warrant, I didn't see the exact location. I thought it was in her neighborhood but not at her house.
quote:
Haley says an argument took place between Brooks and the driver of the vehicle after they traveled around to multiple locations after the bar.
“Based on a disagreement, she got out of the vehicle. She indicated she was getting an Uber. I want the public to know, these young men or really the driver of the vehicle and the young men that were in there, did not put her off on the side of the road,” said Haley.
that's all lawyer talk, so he could be bullshitting, but that's the only thing that states where she was dropped off.
The driver:
quote:
Carver says they later dropped off Brooks in a neighborhood near the scene where she was hit on Burbank Drive.
There's no reason to believe they dumped her on the side of Burbank like a dead animal based on the two articles on WAFB, so quit assuming that.

Oh I agree. I believe BRSO also was very strong in their wording that they would not pursue charges relating to the death.

here is the street view LINK
There is a good chance she never went that far down burbank cause there really isn't much reason to if you don't live over there. It is a cookie-cutter neighborhood that is indistinguishable, especially to a blacked-out girl.

Without reading 71 pages of content can someone comment on how they are so sure this was a rape and that these guys are the scum of the earth? Usually this board, and men in general, sides with the man when a drunk girl claims rape after the fact.
This is not me taking a position but trying to understand the situation better.

GTFO. That's twice you've tried to jump in with stupid BS.

Her BAC was super high and they admitted to the sex.
It's going to be difficult to prove she had the capacity to consent.

So, that makes it ok for what these men did to her?

I don't think anyone in this thread has stated that directly. Just FWIW.
The strawman is strong with this one.

Yeah but even there, where inside the subdivision would be a big deal. If they dropped her off down that entrance where there was housing, I don't see how you can postulate a murder charge.

Well they didn't kill her is why. They sure as hell put her in a position to die though.
I've read the warrant, and I assume what actually happened is worse than the "official" story from the guys in the car. They said they dropped her off at a neighborhood, but is there proof of this? Any cameras pick this up?
Also, did the ride share driver see her walking and hit her or was she lying in the road. This part is definitely important for their guilt. I just haven't read whether their story adds up.

Well for one thing the girl is not claiming she was raped....

How was she in a bar without a drivers license? Would that not of had her address?
Did she have her phone? Could she call anyone for help?
Did she know the telephone number of, say, her parents?
Any friend who could have helped her?
These guys saw a drunk girl as 'easy pickins.' According to a FB post (I know, low credibility) one of them had done this before but no charges filed. That may go to plan prior bad acts admissible if this was their m.o.
The 28 year old man in the vehicle assisted and drove them around as they raped the girl.
They're all guilty on rape. First Degree as two raped her.
Manslaughter. That's more difficult as the death may have happened too far away in time or place from where they dropped her off.
But... charge them with it. Fight it out and let the jury decide.
Jury might bite on negligent homicide.
