Who did edit it then?

Nak said video provided to us by defense attorneys...

Perhaps WBRZ edited it... but I doubt it.

Grand jury will see it all, I assume.

How much does the prosecution show during those proceedings? Everything they've got?

Does defense get to present any evidence or argument?

Thanks for your continued expertise on all this. I assume some media or podcaster will benefit greatly from your efforts doing their 'background' for the national stories to come.

I looked it up.

quote:

Art. 433. Persons present during grand jury sessions

A.(1) Only the following persons may be present at the sessions of the grand jury:

(a) The district attorney and assistant district attorneys or any one or more of them;

(b) The attorney general and assistant attorneys general or any one or more of them;

(c) The witness under examination;

(d) A person sworn to record the proceedings of and the testimony given before the grand jury; and

(e) An interpreter sworn to translate the testimony of a witness who is unable to speak the English language.

(2) An attorney for a target of the grand jury's investigation may be present during the testimony of said target. The attorney shall be prohibited from objecting, addressing or arguing before the grand jury; however he may consult with his client at anytime. The court shall remove such attorney for violation of these conditions. If a witness becomes a target because of his testimony, the legal advisor to the grand jury shall inform him of his right to counsel and cease questioning until such witness has obtained counsel or voluntarily and intelligently waived his right to counsel. Any evidence or testimony obtained under the provisions of this Subparagraph from a witness who later becomes a target shall not be admissible in a proceeding against him.

B. No person, other than a grand juror, shall be present while the grand jury is deliberating and voting.

C. A person who is intentionally present at a meeting of the grand jury, except as authorized by Paragraph A of this article, shall be in constructive contempt of court.

You also don't know that it is the lawyer who edited the video.

I would ordinarily agree. But, with Ronald Haley I would expect that he edited the video.

The police very likely have full videos. They also probably have videos that they haven’t shared and/or tried to delete. They also have bar footage and cell phone data showing where they were and when.

If they are indicted by the grand jury this week, that will tell us a lot about all of the evidence. People have been worried about jury composition in EBR. But it will be the same composition for a grand jury.

No. Defense attorney can attend but cannot say anything.

Maybe. The challenge for him is going to be complying with grand jury secrecy. He has a pretty narrow path there.

I think the implication is that the kids did before giving to lawyers.

Defendants will all plead the 5th I assume.

Unless Casen has "flipped" and will testify against the others.

The newly released video... might the lawyers for the 'other 3' be putting that out to put Casen in the crosshairs for kicking Madison out of the car?

1. It was his car. He could tell her to 'get out get out.'

2. If he did so 'minutes before' she was run over, that implicate him in manslaughter or negligent homicide?

Just interesting Mr. Long was not there but may have just been a scheduling issue.

Going back to the OP

“Investigators say Carver admitted that he and the three other males went to Reggie’s Bar near the LSU campus and consumed alcohol, the arrest warrant states. He said Brooks left the bar with them and was “very unstable on her feet, was not able to keep her balance, and was unable to speak clearly without slurring her words,” the arrest document states.

And now they put out a video of him saying “get her out, get her out” of the car

And she dies soon after in the middle of the road

Yikes

It was said early on they need different lawyers bacause they each have different interests/angles.

They most certainly do.

Have you ever been on a Grand Jury? The Grand Jury will see NONE of what the defense has to offer.

It looks like the lawyer for the older defendant and for the juvenile are working together with Washington's lawyers. They have appeared at at least two press conferences together.

My impression is that Haley (Washington's lawyer) is the bell cow of that group, but that is just speculation on watching them together.

Right. Grand juries are one-sided affairs.

Is the video just the few short clips on WBRZ or is there a longer version released by the defense?

Defendants will not be testifying in the grand jury. And if they're not there, neither are their attorneys.

All I saw was the few clips from WBRZ. And that did not tell me much.

Yes, she was able to speak. But she did not look ok.

Ron Haley suggested that she had called the driver names because he would not have sex with her. I did not hear that in the clips that WBRZ showed.

Only if his guy is testifying.. Or so I thought. You may be right.

I think it’s implied since she said she didn’t mean to offend him. The Angel poster said this 2 weeks ago.

Thanks. I agree. She looked a mess, but those little clips didn't tell much.
