With all the publicity of this case it will be hard to find jurors in EBRP that are not aware of the charges and or conviction of Washington in LP. I `m sure they will try to insure no juror is selected that has that knowledge.

Casen Carver and Kaivon Washington, both 18; Everett Lee, Washington’s 28-year-old uncle; and an unidentified 17-year-old are seen arriving at Reggie’s.
"Inside the bar, the victim and Mr. Carsen’s (sic) 17-year-old juvenile friend were seen hugging and dancing," states a EBRSO affidavit.
JANUARY 15, 2023

According to the affidavit, Brooks is seen sitting on a stool at Reggie's before she stands up to readjust her pants and "stumble[s] backwards."
"The victim got back on her feet with the help of three individuals," the document states.
1:34 a.m.
Brooks falls while standing up from a bench near the entrance of Reggie’s bar, the affidavit states.
The 17-year-old suspect is then allegedly seen approaching Brooks. He "removed her baseball cap," and Brooks is seen "grabbing" the teen’s hand "while getting back on her feet," the document alleges.

Brooks and the four men leave Reggie’s Bar.
1:51 a.m.
Brooks and the quartet are seen "walking towards the location of their parked vehicle."
1:54 a.m.

"Previous" needs a referent. I take it prior to being struck by the vehicle.
that is the way I read it, that specific injury was previous to the injuries sustained when she was hit by the car

Well, one couldn't find her way to an address
To be completely fair, I’ve been lost many times looking for an address or apartment in BR when I was 18-20
A lot of those places look the same… then, add that in with it being night and the fact that they were drinking….

Lots of third hand accounting in this interview.
Just curious as to how it's 3rd hand if he saw the video???

1st hand would mean he (Nak) experienced it himself.
ETA: it could be considered 2nd hand info since he got it directly from the source.

When Carver asked Brooks for her address, he said that she “fell over and could not answer him,” according to the affidavit.
According to the affidavit, Carver parked the car a short distance from the bar and Brooks and the 17-year-old began to have consensual sex in the backseat of the car, at which point Washington exited the vehicle. When they were finished, the 17-year-old exited the car and Washington re-entered and asked Brooks “numerous times if she wanted to have sex, and she consented,” Carver told investigators.
quote:
Washington also sat down for a voluntary interview with investigators. He said that while in the backseat, his 17-year-old friend and Brooks “touched each other’s private areas,” but denied witnessing them have sex and denied having sex with Brooks. Washington also told investigators that Brooks was very intoxicated, saying, “like when I tell you drunk, drunk, she was drunk,” according to the affidavit.
Washington also allegedly confirmed that Carver left Brooks at a subdivision near the crash scene.
An autopsy conducted by the East Baton Rouge Coroner’s Office determined that Brooks “had injuries consistent with previous sexual assault anally.” A toxicology test showed that her Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) was .319 at the time of her death.
These kids are just really dumb. In every fricking way, dumb.

Does anyone know how she was identified at the hospital?
Reggie’s said she got in with a fake ID on LA wallet but supposedly she left her phone at Reggie’s.
I wouldn’t think she’d be carrying a purse around. Maybe her real ID in back pocket or something?
I don’t remember discussing this.. anyone know?

When using fake id, they still carry driver’s license
Would have to go back and examine video, but I think it was mentioned she still had her purse

Good question. Does LSU still issue ID cards?

I wondered about this too .. the video leaving Reggies shows (or seems to) that she did have her purse. That said, who knows if she had it with her when she was let out/dumped out of the vehicle.
Last night, I had a very hard time sleeping .. I kept thinking about what her family has, is and will go through ..

Ive thought about them reading this thread, and even reflected on some of my own posts which may seem insensitive (unintentionally). Regardless of how this turns out in court, I've seen nothing that suggests the family and Madison deserve anything less than dignity.
That said, I truly believe this thread has gone so long bc we all do give a shite about her and justice.

Yes and I also think it's human nature, especially in this age of 24/7 news access and social media, to wonder about the why and the how etc. But that still doesn't make it our business to know it all by any means. Like someone earlier said, they're just going to let the DA/defense/system work it out and hope that justice is served.
I know that I've learned a lot from just reading ... It's also scared the hell out of me as a mother, even though our youngest is almost 22. I've always been the type to educate/remind/reinforce safety, personal responsibility etc but even moreso now.

'd imagine the prosecutors want the youngest, whitest, most female jury they can get, but the defense isn't going to let them have it.
Next best thing is probably middle-aged white parents, but that's far from a slam dunk.
I am of the opinion that this would be what a jury consultant would advise. Some science and personal experience have shown that white females are more critical of their peers than any other group. Some might suggest that this defies common logic or thought, but in practice, its a fact.
