The video did absolutely nothing for these animals. Her BAC is at a point where she could be in the video saying "give it to me" and it doesn't matter.
No. These are not seasoned investigators sitting on a Baton Rouge jury. This is a BATON ROUGE jury. See FB comments for how at LEAST one jury member with view this. They will not give a damn about scientific evidence. "that white girl wanted it.."

a different side of what?
It possibly shows she asked them for the ride and that they didn’t prey on her to get her with them.
This doesn’t make what happened after that better, but from the beginning, everyone was assuming the boys preyed on a drunk girl and got her into their car.
As I said, this video may show a different side of what happened (at that moment, not in the car).

Video evidence is irrefutable. She definitely appears to be chasing after them. Her wingman appears to run after her. And at least from this video - appears she left of her own free will. She also not stumbling or falling. Maybe if more video evidence becomes public, we will know more. But based on this, nobody appears forced against their will. This is why people are innocent until PROVEN guilty.
Clear evidence that people will see what they want to see

I don't think that video matters at all. The judge saw the video with audio from in the truck and was certain a crime was committed. I would be willing to guess that her speech is bordering on incoherent and her eyes are fluttering/unfocused. Being unable to communicate her address is a clear indication of how drunk she was. She couldn't give them her address or tell them where she lived, but was getting out to get an Uber? Make it make sense.

Not saying you are wrong, but again how do we know this footage isn't another group of people?

Most damning piece (well, all of it was) from the affidavit (see page 1 of this thread) was when asked where she lived she couldn't answer them. She slumped over half passed out.
So what did they do? Drove 2 minutes to park and
This. Premeditated. Like vultures circling when they see a weak animal. I don't think they had purely honest and selfless intentions to get her home safely before she got in the car. If she was already falling over several times, they marked her.

The video is irrelevant. The damn driver said she was incoherent and he knew it was very wrong. You think a video of her running is more important that that statement?
Posted on 1/26/23 at 7:23 pm to lctiger
Absolutely not. And had the statements not been given already, I’d say that this for some would raise reasonable doubt about her being drunk. But the statements have been made.
They’ll hopefully pay for their actions.

But also, the girl chasing after Madi doesn’t seem to totally clear the guys from being predators - hopefully she will say something

if a girl chases down someone for a ride home its ok for 2 guys to force sex on her in front of their friends?

What is it with people in this thread? Stop mischaracterizing what people say.
First off, no one ever said that so why are you going there?

BAC Test means nothing. If she appeared sober enough to consent, then the case for 3rd degree rape can be thrown out:
"RS 14:43 - (2) When the victim, through unsoundness of mind, is temporarily or permanently incapable of understanding the nature of the act and the offender knew or should have known of the victim's incapacity."
If the offender did not know or understand, which case can be made for a 17 year old minor - then case for 3rd degree rape can become difficult to prove.

I didn’t watch again but my first impression is that the other girl was just someone else leaving.

I don’t see how the video proves anything other than she was with them.
They said her friends left her. She could have realized she didn’t have a ride and ran to the only people she had been talking to and asked for a ride. They could have told her they would bring her home. Doesn’t mean she wanted to have sex or even knew what she was getting into.
I think all it really proves is that they didn't drag her unconsciously to the car like some thought. She was possibly willing to leave with them for whatever reason. That doesn't mean they didn't still rape her, but this would be something that the guys would use as part of their defenseI would think. Obviously the biggest thing they still have going against them is the BAC and Carver's testimony.
Side note that I was just thinking about, if Carver didn't turn himself in, do we even get to the point of wondering if any of this happened?

BUT, if this 17 year old is at a bar and consuming alcohol and having sex, one could argue he SHOULD have know…
