I get that criminal defense attorneys have to protect the client but he is going about it in about as trashy as possible way.

He's a lawyer. He could not give any less of a frick about how the victim's family feels about it. I think some lawyers get their rocks off on smearing people like this.

“He says currently in Baton Rouge, bars can have two violations of serving to underage drinkers a year. Then they just pay a fine and the board basically never sees them again. But now, he wants to change that. “

I have dealt with the Baton Rouge liquor license council.. will not actually make any informed decisions.. expect nothing positive from these guys for changes.. pretty much a bunch of lemmings checking boxes on a form.. always said you need to be on film serving a 12 year old while killing puppies before this council will even look twice at the situation.

No kidding. And when was the last time her case was mentioned on the news. It has been all but forgotten by the media.

There are some tremendous pieces of shite in this thread. Chicken should go through here and guillotine some accounts.

This is such a stupid comment. Trying to be edgy and you come off as moronic.

Probably why you didn’t get a bid.

Ah back to the ole paying for friends argument. I'm sorry, but I don't understand how there are so many people in this thread blaming the friends. There are so many different reason why she could've gotten separated from them. Maybe she left them without telling them. Maybe she was with another guy they knew and wanted to stay when the rest of her friends were leaving. Maybe they were all at another bar and she left to stop by Reggies before the end of the night since she use to work there.

Of course we all wish they would have stayed together, but I'm not going to sit here and blame her friends because they lost track of her for 10 minutes at the end of the night when they were all drunk.

rumors have gone around that there was a fight of sorts and her sorority friends left her there. no idea if its true or what the details were about the fight. still, not a good look.

have you verified the driver wasn't driving in excess of the speed limit? at what point did he notice a human in the road? was he distracted looking at his phone when he realized he was about to hit someone?

While I agree, I dont think banning them from bars will make that much of a difference. Those that get behind the wheel drunk will do so whether they drink at a bar or not. And they're going to drink whther they're at a bar or not.

The crazy part is he would be screaming about victim blaming if this was a black girl say Bree a Taylor that got shot by police.

I’m surprised some dad of a victim hasn’t beaten the shite out of a defense attorney over some of the shite they pull.

Lucky for them Moore likes to cut deals so they probably will get off very light once the camera turns off which will be a few weeks.

Which is why a lawyer maybe says nothing in these circumstances rather than fanning the flames.

I have only done criminal law pro bono, and never in a case this serious, but . . . .

Generally DAs are not going to give a plea deal unless the family signs off.

It’s not helping these families to have this in the news. And probably one of the worst things that could happen to a parent is to have a dead child be the subject of a stickied thread on the OT.

He is purposely fanning the flames to likely one taint the jury pool in BR to force it somewhere else or two make the family more likely to accept a deal.

I’m not sure why you wouldn’t want br as the venue considering the demographics of the city.

why do you think this is relevant? Do you feel the driver should be charged as well? no issue with it, I just don't see why its relevant to the 4 charged here. Seems it would be a separate issue altogether.

Yea - especially with some of the shameless pieces of shite and some of the things they've posted. I get there's always going to be trolls, but the straight up disrespecting of the victim is nausea inducing.
