Yeah it takes some liberties along the La coast.

this thing may have a big impact on some college football games Saturday

Only Alabama fans would make posts about teabagging and college football in a thread about a potentially catastrophic hurricane.

Yet another set of remarkable SHIPS intensity forecasts for #Delta this morning.

Even odds of a 35kt increase in the next 24 hours. That would bring the storm to 130kts or 150mph, a strong Category Four, in time for landfall in #Cancun.

I literally said in my post that the impact on football games is nothing in comparison to the impacts on the Gulf Coast. I was just mentioning that it would have an effect.

I didn’t make the “teabagging” post.

Something about the way the meteorologists word these things, like calling intensification "remarkable", that really triggers tf out of me. I just want to smash the guy's computer.

I wouldn’t evacuate New Orleans or BR on the current forecast, I was just saying I’m not going to leave ground zero just to go to those areas. If I’m leaving, I’m going somewhere that won’t be impacted at all.

Exactly, if you're looking for lots of hotel availability with college football on a TV with electricity and air conditioning, Houston-Dallas is the land of milk and honey.
Sucks it's a little bit of a drive, but well worth it.

I don't think there are many hotel options in Beaumont either. Still a lot of displaced SWLA people and contractors

Almost certainly would go to Houston to stay with family if we leave.

Sorry man I changed the wording to reflect that there are more than one Alabama fan bringing nonsense to this thread.

Add to it that the reason we read this instead of watching the news is because the information is both better and interspersed with dark humor.

Ignore the other guy, he's a meat gazer.

Not to wish misfortune on anyone else, but any significant wind and rain in LCH would be the knockout blow for many damaged homes and businesses.

With all of the tarped roofs, the current path could still be problematic for a lot of folks. What can tarps withstand? 20-30 mph? We could easily see gusts exceed that in SWLA with a Morgan City landfall.

Most tarps already withstood gust like that from the tropical storm a few weeks ago

True...Houston may be the only option if people want to completely get out of the storm effects. IF the current tract sticks Morgan City will feel wind and whatever rain....will most def lose power...but dont think they will have to worry much about storm surge. Gustav and Barry did a lot of wind damage to the St Mary Parish area....then of course Andrew was a bastard
