Well Slack this isn’t setting up nicely for us. I am glad the water levels are pretty low right now so surge, albeit significant in many areas, could be worse had this come a few weeks ago on top of the other storms.

I am holding out hope that this cool weather and cooler water temps suck the life out of this thing.

Just saying that I thought HWRF was crazy and I even made a post about it saying it was ridiculous.

Yeah, everything about that model was spot on for Laura. Talk about karma.

Welp baws, while it’s still early, this ain’t looking too pretty for me down in Morgan City. I’ve got a standby generator, and trees aren’t a problem, but I don’t believe we’ll stay if this track holds. Kiddos are a bit too young for that.

This doesn’t matter at all compared to the issues Delta will cause on the Gulf Coast, but this thing may have a big impact on some college football games Saturday depending on where exactly the center goes once it moves inland.

When do we see the grocery store and gas station rush?

Mandatory evacuations? Contra flow?

Setting up to be hurricane andrew part II for Terrebonne parish. Lots of land lost since that storm. The new levees will be tested.

Yeah the best hope is that it’s taking the long way around this ridge, so that pushes back landfall a bit. We’re still roughly 96 hours from US landfall, so the average error is still on our side.

When it’s a Cat 4 in the GOM.

A hurricane is natures way of expending excess energy and with all the H's and TS's we just had a lot of energy has been taken out of the waters.

Could it somehow take a northerly turn earlier and just clip the extreme southeast instead?

I’m with you in this Slack. Not too far from you to the east. Do you have a planned evacuation point? I’m kind of debating which way to head if this track holds.

What are you thinking?

That seems like a very unlikely route. The most likely scenario for it to miss most of LA is it slowing down a bit around the turn, but that seems less and less likely now that Gamma is pretty much gone.

The feature that is going to force Delta WNW has already started to build in. Delta has started to speed up a bit, as predicted, so the confidence is increasing quite a bit in an LA landfall.

Storm is likely going to moving NNE when it makes landfall, so if he looking to get west and/or north of Lafayette.

BR and Nola are no bueno. Don’t see the point in evacuating somewhere to lose power.
