Yeah, mark your square.

I said something to my husband about a rice bin being hit by a tornado/cat 4 cane/whatever and that I could just see the rice literally being blown away.

He told me that's not what happens ... it just kinda stays where it is and doesn't blow around. He told me of other farmers that had "some water" in their bins after Rita but they were able to get the good rice out from the top and not much of what was in the bins was really "lost".

I'll never worry again about the bins!

You can tell the center line of the cone did shift slightly west on the 10am advisory:

It’s the HRRR which is a good short range model, but it isn’t always the best at handling tropical systems. It does it’s best work with severe weather.

Well, the HRRR is kind of a grey area.

The center of the cone at landfall point has been between 92.7 West and 93.1 West for 48 hours.

That is about a 25 mile spread.

That's pretty dialed in. Seems like the turn needs to happen relatively quickly to get there though.

Rainfall prediction in jennings and lake Charles is down below 10" now. Which is good because that 12+ was worrying me.

Agreed. Or just a fact about the state in general. Like when I learned Marsh Island was one of the biggest islands in CONUS the other night.
