I’m in Zachary and have a rainfall total of 9.51 inches tonight

I guess this is a good test for the areas drainage projects after 2016 flood

Good lord, who are these people that decide to send these alerts out about rain at 2am? Seems like they could target them.
Normally I agree but this alert was able to get people to look and take quick action if they needed to move cars or lift belongings. Central & DS has a lot of homes just inches from taking in water. Last flood had people waking up and stepping into water when they got out of bed.

Pretty sure we already got more rain than NOAA called for over the entire hurricane.(Baton Rouge area)

That Comite diversion sure would be nice right about now.

Over in Lafayette we've gotten minimal rain so far, probably less than an inch the last 24 hours.

Last update took me out of the cone. Hard to tell but the center of the cone looks to have shifted east. Still at 120 mph. Come on team sheer. Looks to be passing more over White Lake than Grand Lake now.

Looks like a lot more rain will continue to fall to the north of Baton Rouge, that's an impressive band. Any homes flooded yet?
I'm in an old neighborhood in the general Central/Comite area that avoided serious flooding in 2016. This was as bad here, as that was. I saw water for awhile flooding streets, not just overflowing ditches, not just drowning the yards. Around 1 something it topped out. We got damned close.
Tired, got 2 dehumidfiers cranked up, and AC set in the mid-sixties to try to dry the house out. Water's dropped outside now, to where I can see my driveway again.
Please tell me that was the brunt of this storm, I don't think we got much room left.

New update shifts the track back east. Looks to be hitting east of grand chenier now almost to north island/pecan Island. Headed directly over jennings, between the two Jennings exits.
Also good news is that forecast brought intensity down to a cat 2 at landfall.
Good news for LC overall, terrible news for Lafayette and for BR flooding.

What’s a good guess on wind speed at landfall. 100 105?

Any new spaghetti models to post?
Posted on 10/9/20 at 4:23 am to BOSCEAUX
I think prolly 105, but they calling for it to be a TS a little past Oakdale and before Elik, so prolly be a cat 1 by the time it reaches
