The road from the state line to where the new overpass is, is a total freaking disaster and has been for years.... they need to finish the job because the roads are a mess and way too skinny.

That thing is badass

The Ft Polk radar is better than the Lake Charles radar anyways. But the Ft Polk radar went down during Hurricane Laura too. It wasn't destroyed though.

Yeah, the Ft. Polk radar provides pretty good coverage of the Lake Charles area, but the reasoning behind needing the doppler truck is that the Ft. Polk radar site is a little too far away for the NWS to be able to see the lower levels of Delta while it is near the coast. The radar truck will allow them to see those lower levels.

That’s so awesome. The LC NWS is such a critical site for the gulf coast.

Why is no one from the Weather Channel in Pecan Island? No fuzz on the peaches?

So for us uninformed folks, where's the landfall expected now? What proximity to BR will the eye be expected to come?

I skimmed a few pages, but all I'm finding is bickering about weather gals and radar

Looks like the wind gusts and rain will roll into BTR about 2-3pm Friday, probably peaking out between 6pm and midnight

And the KPLC weather guys just don’t match rob robin. I like Wade and Ben. Ben can be a bit dramatic at times. Rob would have never abandoned Lake Charles for Laura.

It's funny you say that, because someone replying to the National Weather Service's tweet about this photoshopped the photo and put Dorothy on the back of the truck next to the radar.
