Dune, Rds or anyone knowledgeable...
I’m in Sulphur, is this storm speed ahead of the trough allowing for it to stay so far west? We were getting out of town regardless for a friend in Oklahoma but I’d rather not go that far if shite gets hairy.

How does that compare to the JW Marriott in Basile?

Bruh with the trajectory of this storm carencro would be just as bad possibly worse than youngsville

Well, there are factors. My wife works in Carenco and needs to go in so I figured it would be better if we all went there to ride it out. Plus, I have a giant stupid chimney which I expect to lose if the winds are bad, so I'm not interested in being at home for that!

More worried about getting stuck on I-49 in worsening weather at that point than anything.

Are you asking about Humberto or Delta?

The Euro is, by far, the most bullish on inland gusts so far. It put LC topping out at like 75mph.

Delta. I remember Humberto coming out of nowhere. The gust really didn't feel like 70 MPG and I was living due east of Starks at the time.

Hopefully you are correct on Delta.

70MPG? Damn that's a fuel efficient storm.

I don't think this is an evacuation storm unless you are really close to the gulf,

Tell that to all the government officials who believe otherwise.

I don't understand comments like this. Of course it's an evacuation type storm if your situation calls for it. I live in Opelousas, and my wife and I are planning to leave tomorrow because we don't want to be stuck with young children with no power for several days. We live in an older home with several large pecan and water oaks around the house. Not exactly a situation I feel like riding out a storm in.

Current official NWS maximum wind forecasts:

Lafayette 69 mph gusting to 87 mph
Lake Charles 63 mph gusting to 80 mph
Baton Rouge 36 mph gusting to 46 mph

These are of course subject to change based on the future track of the storm

Track #13 (old) on right vs. Track #14 (new) on left

Not sure recon supports the 10:00pm 972mb but we are about to get another fix.

Convective pattern is still struggling with warming cloud tops on the east side.

No shite. First line, I’m like, “Okay, pretend I’m 8.” Last line, I’m like, “Okay, pretend I’m 5.”
