The track is pretty clear. It’s not coming to NOLA
NOLA, while maybe not taking a direct hit from a Delta’s center, would be in the east side and would get some very rough weather that will likely cause significant flooding and wind damage. That’s based on the current track.

New Orleans won’t get wind damage if it goes through Baton Rouge but it might rain a lot.

So anyone got an idea of as to when they'll issue the emergency alerts? I wanna make sure my phone isn't next to my ear.
TS warnings for the LA coast will be coming by noon tomorrow.

Has anyone that has boarded their windows found that it actually did any good? I see people going through a ton of hassle boarding up windows for what seems to be little to no benefit. I guess you are protecting against the off chance flying debris hits one of your windows, but the chance of that happening in a typical neighborhood seem slim.

What do you not understand when people tell you NOLA is not clear? It could still very well shift more eastward. What happens if the NE turn happens sooner? NOLA will likely be fricked at that point.

Tropical storm force winds (at least gusts) are certainly possible in NOLA. There could be some wind damage, though probably not major wind damage. Really just depends on how big the storm gets and how much its wind fields expand.

I don't get the reward given the time involved either.
Entire buildings made of glass have the majority of panels survive all the time.

Governor Kay Ivey issued a state of emergency and is calling for a mandatory evacuation of the Alabama Gulf Coast beginning Wednesday morning due to Hurricane Delta.
In a release, she said, “Unless you are a local resident with a hurricane pass or have a pass or decal that has been issued to contractors, property management or other businesses working in response to Hurricane Sally, this mandatory evacuation notice should help us prepare for the worst, even as we hope for the best.”
