And yet it's almost exactly in the same spot through 36 hours.
A little stronger though throughout.

Having a limb bust a window and then having a hurricane IN your house for potential hours would suck so bad
I mean, if it’s a decent sized limb the 1/2” plywood isn’t going to do much. More likely to be fence boards, street signs etc.
I don’t doubt the plywood would help against some flying debris, I just question whether boarding up all your windows is worth the effort to protect against something that is highly unlikely. Seems like time could be spent taking more practical precautions.
But if you have the time and the materials, go for it.

Cool find. He mentions the high school that had the roof torn off. That was NISH. I remember walking through that aftermath. The classrooms didn’t have ceilings for months after.
i bet so, yeah I wish there was even more coverage on youtube,

Laura blew my front french doors in, and broke the hardware on my storm shutters that resulted in 4 windows being broken by the shutters themselves. Air rushing in the house caused my patio french doors to blow open as well. In fact, one of the 2 doors just completely flew out the frame.
Surprisingly, not nearly as bad inside the house as you’d think with 6 open pathways.

No I know, but it's not like our reaction changes anything. It's going to go where it goes, so just as soon find some way to entertain yourself while watching it.

They wanted me to give a stool sample when I asked about this.

The wind itself didn’t do any damage to my house aside from a couple shingles that blew off..however, it did snap a pine tree that crushed my patio roof.

No East please. If this pulls a Sally and pulls East over and over, the OB, Mobile Bay, Eastern Shore, and Pensacola areas are so fricked. There's still so much on the ground that will be projectiled everywhere.

That's my take too.

Has anyone that has boarded their windows found that it actually did any good? I see people going through a ton of hassle boarding up windows for what seems to be little to no benefit. I guess you are protecting against the off chance flying debris hits one of your windows, but the chance of that happening in a typical neighborhood seem slim.
I bought a home in Alabama that’s called Gold Fortified. I believe it’s built to Florida building codes they use close to the beach. My house has precut metal things labeled to fit each window. To my understanding if I don’t put them up insurance won’t cover debris if something came through my window. I never put my stuff on the windows during storms. Having said that, that storm that hit east of Panama City Beach last October changed my mind. That hurricane Michael blew windows out of brand new homes. That hurricane received very little press but it looked like an atomic bomb and 40 mile wide tornado went through there.

I think it’s a waste of time and money. Also, most people don’t brace them with 2x4’s and you have the potential of creating more flying debris.

Same here...will wait until tomorrow night to decide. Another jog East we may head to Maurice for the night. Have a young child. If it stays current. May roll out. Stay safe
