Dry air, cool waters. How are they figuring this thing holds together as a major?

Dry air isn't as abundant as you may think. Gamma is actually helping to feed some moisture to Delta.

It is still forecast to cross over Lafayette or a slight bit east. BR will be 40-50 miles east of that. Thats only if it stays as is.

So I have a serious question. Could Delta pack enough punch to level Tiger Stadium? I'm scared if I travel over the greater BR bridge that I might fall out of it.

Nah. Mike Leach already did that.

If the bridge collapses I hope they’ll do studies and rebuild it with 8 lanes going each way. But still only have one exit for i10

But before they build it, we need at least 350 studies.

lot of dry air waiting to get sucked in from western Gulf.

Unfortunately that's a dynamic situation.

That air is basically pushed away by the remnants of Gamma and then Delta.

Dry air would potentially be a problem in the last day or so before approach:

How is this thing supposed to strengthen back in the gulf with those cool temps?

It's relative.

That water is warm enough to support it, but the white shelf water is the potential saving grace.

What does this have to do with falling out of a bridge?

BR is not “fricked”. Some wind, some rain, probably some power outages and downed trees. We’re not talking sheering off the siding and leveling houses.

Note

Cruisin the Coast was this week...rooms out that way will be few and far between

have you tried Biloxi yet calling? Try Hilton Garden Inn on Beach Blvd or Hampton Inn...Gulfport has a few Marriott properties, too..I would think hotels around there would have a generator, in BR..Hilton Capitol Center Downtown might

Were you around for Gustav or do you simply not remember? This has the potential to be as bad or worse than Gustav.

Josh Morgerman, @iCyclone made the trip down the Yucatan.

My current location (star) in relation to Cat-4 #Hurricane #DELTA. Computer models & current motion suggest I might have to tack back N a little—but I'm in wait-and-see mode right now. There's no radar coverage on the Yucatan, so that makes precision chasing that much tougher. LINK

Exactly. But with the speed this thing is moving the depth doesn't really matter as much. This is what matters most...
