Ensembles moved a bit west on the GFS. Wouldn't worry too much yet, but it's something.

You’re in NOLA, right?

Yes

We lived in Katy for 6 years after Katrina so still have a number of connections to the area. Might end up staying with friends but wanted to have something booked just in case.

Four Seasons in Houston is very nice. Gorgeous pool.

My friend just sent me this,
making it look like Baton Rouge is on the Gulf of Mexico with a coastline of marsh and the Atchafalaya Basin.
Goodness gracious. I had to tell him BR is NOT on the GoM, unbelievable.

Which new models? The HMON is the only one that I noticed.

From the current HMON it looks like Vermillion Bay is going to see 100-110 mph winds at landfall. BR will see tropical storm winds in the 50-70 mph. Obviously the damage will be bad near the coast and I would plan for power outages in and around BR.

It blows my mind how every first advisory is doomsday for NOLA and/or BR, but when landfall comes, NOLA and BR barely get a drizzle or breeze. It’s crazy how the weather shite pulls it way west of us or pushes it way East of us.

HMON is currently tracking about 20-30 miles west of your friend's track.

Haven't made the decision to leave.

Wanted to get something booked in case the track comes back closer to NOLA.

Will make decision tomorrow probably, or even push back reservation to Friday and decide tomorrow.

I'm not staying in St Bernard for a 3-4 if it comes close. I'll go eat a couple of times at El Rancho in Katy and a couple of times at Luling City Market and have an easy weekend.

I can personally confirm this is a lie. You're basically the new tornado alley.
